Harbinger LX8 8-Channel Analog Mixer With Bluetooth, FX and USB Audio

Also available in these bundles

Description
Designed for musicians, recordists and content creators, the Harbinger LX8 eight-channel mixer is packed with the tools you need to be your creative best. Whether you’re setting up your home recording studio, creating a podcast, playing solo or small group gigs at local clubs, or looking for a utility sub-mixer for your keyboard, guitar or drum rig, the LX8 connects you and your audience with pristine, easy-to-use quality. Featuring a variety of inputs, from low-noise, high-gain mic preamps with solid phantom power to high-impedance guitar inputs that preserve your tone and Bluetooth for serious flexibility, built-in 24-bit digital effects and a 2x2 USB audio interface, the Harbinger LX8 is ready whenever inspiration takes you.

Versatility is Key
With the ability to be equally at home while recording music or podcasts, or on stage controlling your show, the Harbinger LX8 is an ideal choice for musicians who are constantly moving back and forth between those environments. With a wide range of available inputs and the ability to connect directly to a computer for recording and playback, as well as having provisions for main and monitor outputs, the LX8 can take almost any combination of sources you want to throw at it. At the same time, you get a great sounding feed for your audience or your DAW.

Ready to Record
With the Harbinger LX8, there’s no need for a separate audio interface. The integrated 2x2 USB audio interface has zero-latency hardware monitoring and an easy plug-and-play connection to your laptop or desktop computer. You’ll also find Harbinger has included the cross-platform (macOS, Windows and Linux) Traction Waveform multitrack recording software, so you’ve got everything you need to plug it in and start on your recording journey.

Ready to Rock
Also included with the LX8 is Two notes Torpedo Wall of Sound plug-in software that makes the mixer a powerful tool for guitarists, both acoustic and electric. The award-winning Torpedo Wall of Sound makes it easy to get amazing electric guitar sounds when using amp simulation plug-ins, or incredible “amp-in-the-room” realism when you record from multi-FX units, preamp pedals or an amp running into a reactive load box. Plus, turn off the speaker cabinet and mic, and Wall of Sound’s EQ, compressor and reverb are great for your acoustic signal chain. And if you want a super-clean input you can post-process with whatever plug-ins you want, the high-impedance (Hi-Z) switch on the instrument input matches your instrument’s output impedance. This lets you connect any guitar, acoustic or electric, or bass directly without losing any tone or sonic quality.

Bluetooth and Mix-Minus Make It Happen
Whether you’re using it at rehearsal to play reference tracks, or for backing tracks and break music at a gig, the Harbinger LX8’s integrated Bluetooth and mobile device audio inputs have your covered. Another key feature is the Mix-Minus feature that lets you monitor USB playback in headphones without sending the playback to your main mix, so that overdubbing to your recordings is a seriously tasty piece of cake.

Powerful FX Section
With eight available programs in a 24-bit, multi-core FX engine, you can call up reverbs, delays, chorus, doubling and more to sweeten your sound, whether you’re looking to wow an audience live, or add a little extra to a recording.

More Utility Than DWP
With LX8’s two mono inputs, three stereo inputs (including USB) and multiple outputs, it makes a stunningly versatile utility mixer. Using it for a stereo keyboard sub-mix, you can combine a pair of stereo keyboards, a couple of mono synths and output from a laptop to feed to the main house mixer. Electronic drummers can set up a couple of drum modules, a click track and output from a laptop. One of the best parts is that you can also create your own personal monitor mix at the same time, feeding headphones, in-ear monitors or a separate monitor speaker.
With all of this going for it, the most amazing thing about the Harbinger LX8 is the amount of value it provides. The phrase “punches above its weight class” is probably one of the most overused phrases in modern marketing, but Harbinger’s LX series is definitely deserving of that accolade. From solo gigs to the nerve center of a home recording setup to touring as your utility sub-mixer, the LX8 is ready to take you to your next musical destination.

Perfect Fit for my Mixer Needs

I have a small studio that I have been building up after I lost my previous studio and house in a wildfire. The new house requires me to work in a smaller space than before. I found that this mixer works perfectly for my needs. It has a small footprint and it has very low signal noise, none that I could detect, especially at the volume that I am recording on. Two channels can use the small onboard effects and there are 8 basic effects. 4 are reverbs related to the size of the virtual room and the other 4 are chorus, reverb delay, chorus reverb, and "voice doubler" (which does something interesting, but I am not sure what, but it seems a good choice). I mainly use chorus, chorus reverb, and reverb. The effects are limited, however, I am using the Eventide Blackhole as my effects unit for the synth I am using and have a software synth with its own effects. The software synth plugs in by a 1/8 inch RCA jack, which is handy. I have not used the bluetooth link up, but am looking forward to this. I also have not downloaded the recording software for the computer, but plan to do so. I am running a record out through another 1/8 inch RCA jack directly to Audacity on another computer (one computer playing synth software and the other having Audacity record). This is also very convenient. I have two Sterling MX5s hooked up to the mixer, so I can hear how the recording sounds and can tweak the sounds in realtime. All in all, it is very seamless.

Great mixer! Does what specs and features state. Wish the usb channel or Master channel had a higher output. Besides the output on USB channel, sounds clean and very portable and lightweight! Use it to output DJ rig from my Mac vías USB. Size is perfect, ac/dc adapter and cables are perfect length. At max volumes the unit sounds clean!!
Good mixer, only one quirk, otherwise it's great!

I bought this mixer to use for Karaoke at Bars. The 8 effects it has onboard are fantastic, they all work well and compliment most singers. It is a great sounding mixer! The only issue i have with it is when using the USB audio card built-in for my audio out, the volume seems lower than it should be. Don't get me wrong, that shouldn't be a deal-breaker, all the other functions are great. It's well-built, seems solid. I'm happy with the purchase overall. This is the second Harbinger mixer I've owned and I'm happy with the audio quality from both. It's a no brainer buy!

A must have for home recording a/o live events. Easy to set up. The Bluetooth synced easily allowing flexibility to shift from line in to mobile devices. Small but mighty. The sound filled a medium sized ballroom. A wonderful alternative for small venues.

I would like to use a small power cell to run mixer in remote locations. do you know of a USB to the type of harbinger connector that I can use to achieve this?
The Harbinger LX8 mixer uses a 15V DC, center-positive barrel connector for its power input. This is not something you can directly power via standard USB (which outputs 5V). However, you can run it off a battery using the right components. Here’s what you need: 1. Power Requirement Voltage: 15V DC Current: ~1A (check the adapter label for exact amperage; usually around 1A or less) 2. Power Source Options A. USB Power Bank + 5V to 15V Step-Up Converter Use a USB power bank with at least 2A output at 5V. Use a USB step-up converter cable that boosts 5V USB to 15V DC with the correct barrel plug. Example product to search: “USB 5V to 15V DC step-up cable with 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug” Make sure the barrel plug matches the mixer (usually 5.5mm outer / 2.1mm or 2.5mm inner diameter – confirm this from the Harbinger adapter). B. Dedicated Li-Ion Power Pack (with adjustable voltage). Use a battery pack like the TalentCell 12V/15V/19V Li-Ion battery pack, which includes: Adjustable output voltages. Proper DC barrel outputs. 15V mode that can power mixers and small audio gear. Double-check: Voltage: Must be exactly 15V Polarity: Center-positive Barrel size: Measure your original Harbinger adapter or consult the manualsubmitted6 months ago
