Guild D-55E Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

Description
The D-55 remains true to all the premium appointments of its 1968 predecessor, including a AAA Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and nitrocellulose finish. Internal refinements include scalloped Adirondack bracing, as well as an improved dovetail neck-joint, hand-fit to make this generation of D-55 the lightest, loudest, and best-sounding yet.
The D-55 showcases Guild’s most recognizable headstock, fully bound and featuring the Guild “Peak and Shield” inlay combination over a figured ebony overlay. The matching ebony fingerboard is also fully bound and inlayed with Guild’s iconic abalone/pearl “V-Blocks” and multi-line “railroad track” purfling on the bass and treble sides.
The D-55’s fingerboard is set on an all-mahogany neck with beautiful walnut center seam running the length of the heel to headstock. The D-55’s nitro finish is available in natural or Antique Burst and is hand-sprayed for minimum thickness and maximum resonance that will only get better with age. An L.R. Baggs pickup system is available as an option, and each guitar includes a hand-signed certificate of authenticity and ships with Guild’s Premium humidified hardshell case.

Absolutely Phenomenal

I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and have owned/played countless high-end acoustic and electric guitars. My normal "go-to" acoustic guitars are Gibson and Martin dreadnoughts. Both are similar materials to the Guild D55 and both are $2500 - $3000. I am extremely happy with both acoustics and had my doubts about the D55 being so different. The D55 is head and shoulders above any other guitar I have ever played. Seriously. The first attribute I noticed was the feel of the guitar - primarily the neck - which showed up with the best action I have ever felt on an acoustic. Not a single buzz on any of the perfectly crowned frets. Having never played a Guild before, I was interested in the narrower neck this company has. Within the first few seconds, I realized that this neck is the best neck I have ever felt. It seems literally perfect for my hands and after playing for hours, my hands didn't feel fatigued like they normally do. The weight of the guitar is surprising. It isn't too light, but it is definitely not heavy. It feels just right and although the weight seems optimal, it feels like a tank. There are no concerns for the strength of the guitar. It is solid and well built. Second, the sound. This thing sounds huge. Very little effort is required to get a note to ring out and picking harder just makes the guitar fill the room. It is remarkably responsive and resonant for a brand new guitar. Finger picking is the purest acoustic sound I think I have ever heard. Though the term "balanced" may seem over-used for those of you who have been doing your research, it is the most appropriate term to describe the interaction of low, mid, and high frequencies. The dynamics this guitar offers really gives me a lot of room to "move" a song - if you know what I mean. Lastly, the finish. My guitar is flawless. Literally. Having purchased several high-end guitars before, I can usually find a flaw in the finish, the fretboard, binding, or materials within a couple of minutes. I've probably got a total of 30 minutes inspecting this instrument and have yet to find anything wrong with it. For me, the initial downside of the guitar was its price. However, having played this instrument and witnessed the quality of build and the quality of sound, this guitar is appropriately priced. It stings to say/pay, but it is true. Honestly, it seems like a bargain. If I came across my specific D55 in any guitar shop, I would HAVE to buy it. It sounds, looks, and feels that good to me. Though this guitar has likely ruined all other guitars for me, I would buy it again without a doubt.
This makes my Martin D28 sounds like a toy

I can't believe how rich the tone is. I own a Martin D28 (which is albeit a bit cheaper) and the D55e makes it sound like a $100 starter guitar made out of composite mystery wood. It is a bit quieter than the Martin, but with a much deeper and emotional voice.
