The 18 in. telescoping extender bar has two diameters: a 15 in. length of a 1-1/4 in. diameter for height adjustment, and a 3 in. length of a 1-1/2 in. diameter for clamp mounting. It is equipped with a notched numbering system to assist in height adjustment identification. The RMAA tube joint end clamp with a 1-1/4 in. receiver, can be fitted to your 1-1/2 in. diameter bar, and convert your rack into a height adjustable rack.
