The Fender Parallel Universe Vol. II Tele Mágico comes from the fertile mind of Master Builder Ron Thorn. He was given a green light to create a Fender that’s never been done before, and it's here at Guitar Center. Thorn paired gold foil humbuckers with a thinline body, chopped the bridge, added a Cabronita pickguard and covered it all with pearloid. The Mágico is made for the player wants a pro-level instrument with a distinctive visual and sonic identity.

Mágico Tonewoods, Fit and Finish

The Mágico has a semi-hollow, thinline body made of book-matched ash. It's finished in gloss urethane, which makes the guitar resistant to cracks and yellowing.

Neck Construction

The Mágico has a flame maple neck, with a profile that goes from a soft V to C-shape. On the lower frets, the soft V allows thumb over-style chording. On the upper frets, the C-shape offers a comfortable profile for single-note soloing. The fretboard is also flamed maple, and it's bound in white with a 12" radius for bending ease. It has 21 medium jumbo frets and white pearloid block inlays.

Mágico Electronics

Gold foil pickups were a staple on ’60 import guitars. The Mágico features Fender's own take which captures their soul, while adding string definition and chime.

Custom Mágico Hardware

Thorn took a vintage-style 3-saddle bridge and “chopped” it for the Mágico. The control plate is also customized. It uses a 3-way toggle instead of a traditional blade switch to select pickups. All of the hardware on the Mágico is finished in Nickel/Chrome, including the Gotoh tuners. The Fender Parallel Universe Vol. II Tele Mágico comes with a certificate of authenticity and a Surf Green deluxe hardshell case.
