I LOVE my new guitar
I have always had trouble with guitars. My hands are small and not very strong, so I've never had good luck trying to get good, consistent sound out of a guitar. It's just been too frustrating for me to continue. I also have a hard time feeling comfortable with the size and shape of most guitars I've tried. I've got limited funds to invest in an instrument and I wanted to make sure it was going to be an instrument that would let me play the things I wanted to play, and give me the range I was looking for. I've looked at banjos, classical guitars, and even junior guitars. But I always came back to the acoustic guitar in terms of sound and range. So when this guitar went on sale, I took the plunge and placed the order (after watching numerous video reviews, of course). I couldn't be happier! This is a gorgeous guitar that feels great, and it doesn't take much pressure at all to get a beautiful sound from it. It is wonderfully constructed. I had mine shipped to the store, which may have protected it. Either way, I didn't experience any of the construction issues I read in some of the other reviews, but also I was confident in the purchase guarantee of Guitar Center, and I knew I would have received a replacement if anything was wrong. It's definitely why I purchase through Guitar Center. Now I'm so excited about playing this guitar that I practice twice a day because it's so much fun and it sounds so great. As a new player, I simply couldn't be happier about this purchase. The onboard tuner makes it very easy to tune quickly. When I first tuned it, I used my Super Snark tuner to check the accuracy and they both matched exactly. I also purchased the Fender 20 watt amp and plugged it in. Wow! What a fun set-up! This is definitely a purchase I will treasure forever.

It's a decent guitar for the money
For the price you get an acoustic electric with good electronics, a cutaway, and a decent tone. That's pretty much the end of the positives. Quality control is not consistent and many other reviews will attest to this. I had to take the first one back because it had poor fret work and major buzzing on certain frets. The 2nd one I got was significantly better in that regard, however the action was way way high on this one. The nut was binding on the B and high E strings. The tone isn't bad at all but it's nothing that can't be beat by other competitors. The neck feels ok. Playability is pretty poor without some work on the action as the one I got was just way too high. After lowering it to a good height (not super low but good enough to be playable) and changing strings, it was better, but again playability still was kind of bad in comparison to 200 dollar offerings from other companies like Yamaha and Ibanez both of which you can get solid top guitars for 200 bucks but you sacrifice electronics. In my opinion going with a Yamaha or Ibanez for the same price with no electronics is worth it over this guitar. You get much better sound, build quality feels better, and they just play way easier. The action will usually be better out of the box. I feel that beginners can get discouraged with this Fender because it plays so poorly. Overall everything about this guitar is just "ok" or "decent" for the money paid. Those are really the best words to describe it. I just feel the same money can get you a better instrument regardless of skill level. If a cutaway and electronics are truly must-have features for you AND this is your maximum budget then this guitar would probably do you fine especially with a pro set up. Id say the biggest thing is to make sure you try out the specific one you are buying before you buy it just to make sure you at least get a problem-free one.

I chose THIS instrument because I could afford it. And, as a fan of wooden sailboats, I love mahogany, so yeah. "I'll take it." PAY ATTENTION: This Fender A-135CE all-mahogany is like the Millenium Falcon of affordable, acoustic guitars. "She's GOT it where it counts." I play mine through a Fender Princeton reverb amp and have plans to take them both with me to Nashville. *****

What is the radius on this model's neck? I am curious. I bought it about a year ago in Shreveport and would like to knwo that for future reference. I used to have a Telecaster and the neck feels similar...
