This is an awesome head. I had an aquarian superkick I, and I broke it, so i got the emad 2. Its perfect for me! Im into rock and metal (Led zep, Metallica,etc), so this gives me the perfect sound i want. deep, full, and no annoying ring. Get it! you'll be glad you did!

This drumhead is beyond the rest. No matter what type of shell you drum is, with this head there is never a need to put anything inside the drum. The resonant head together with it makes the bassdrum sound like it's actually miked. The price is amazing for this pro-quality head!

Had em for 2 years now. They're the best I've ever owned! They sound great! Nice deep low end, great feel and attack, and very durable. The foam rings are easy to install and get rid of unwanted ring and overtone without changing the overall feel and attack of the head. A little pricey, but well worth the few extra bucks

I think I've found the drum head I'll be buying for my bass from now on..this thing is great! I've had it for a wihle now, and it has a small dent, but only because of the extremely hard plastic beaters and the amount i use it..and you don't need a dampener either, no pillows or blankets, which is great. One of the best heads our there.

This is by far the best bass drum head I've ever used. It's great for all styles but I play hardcore/hard rock and it holds up wonderfully to my hard hitting. This baby sounds like it is mic'd up all the time, and my drums are in a tiny room with blankets on the walls! I played a 3 hour show with this and it held up beautifully and I got TONS of drummers after the show asking me what bass drum head I was using. This will be the last drum head I ever use! It's simply unbelievable, you just have to buy it for yourself to see! You won't be dissapointed!

This is one of the best investments to add a quality deep thumping punch to your bass drum. The foam insert rings really help it alot and you have a couple choices in thicknesses for inserts. The 2ply head gives it the extra strength and durability too. You'll be so glad too. Your bass drum will sound good even without a reso with this one.

This is probably the best drum head out there in my opinion. When My Remo Powerstroke broke, I looked for a head that would give me quality, duability, and a awesome sound. When i put this on my bass drum, I was just blown away with the sound and you can change the sounds with the rings that come with it. I love this head and im sure that you will too.

Loved the sound, but have broken through the first ply twice now WAY too easy. The first one was without a pad attached so I bought another WITh a pad. Didn't make a difference - same results. I use felt beaters and consider myself an "average kicker". I play in a rock, pop, and dance cover band only 3-4 times a month so the head isn't getting heavy playing. Will be switching to another brand at this point. Don't want to punch through the second ply at a gig. Can't afford to pay $53 every month or so for a new bass head. That is ridiculous! For those buying this head ~ good luck.

I have a pretty small bass. And with normal bass heads I would get a lighter sound because of it. But with this it makes it sound like the lowest Bass drum i've heard.

If you are looking for a new kick drum head definately check an emad2 out. I have always liked the normal emad but i still had to put a small towel or pillow in the kick to make it sound how i like it. Now with the EMAD2 you need absolutely no more dampening and you will get the perfect amount of punch. I dont think ive ever head a kick drum sound as good. I promise you wont regret trying this head out and it will last you a very long time.

Best head on the market if you want or like a lower end, fat sound with attack and punch. Whether you play with an 18" kick or a 28" kick this head will give a lot of tuning options. I play with a heavy foot and like my kick mixed loud into the overall live and studio mix.

I just bought this thing yesterday and all I can say is; WHOA! I?m in the process of bring my 80?s Ludwig Rocker set back to life. I?m still on the fence if I should continue the project or buy a new set. Anyway, I bought all new heads (Evans) yesterday for each drum. After doing lots of research I decided to give the EMAD 2 a look. The bass has no front hoop so no reso head. All I have for now is the batter side and no other dampening. Man this bass now sounds like one of those sound systems you hear in the kids cars. BOOM BOOM BOOM? I tried both dampening rings and like the sound of both. Anyway, the sound of this old drum is seriously amazing.

This head is awesome!! I got it two days ago and what a difference it made right out of the box. I've played evans heads for a while now and I can say without a doubt that they got it down to a science. I put this head on my Tamma 22x18 imperial star with the smaller of the damp rings with the patch and the stock Tamma resonent head, and no other muffeling at all. It has that deep low tone that hits you right in the chest that I like with non of the ringing you get from other heads. No need to mike this thing for most venues or practice situations. I used an Evans 22 inc hydralic for years and liked the sound from it, but it still had what I call the clunky overtone no matter what I did or how I muffled it. This thing is very smooth, deep, and in your face!!! No clunck at all!!! And I use the heavy plastic type beaters and play pretty hard. When I do play softer stuff like jass or country the head is right there cutting through the mix and sounding awesome!!I would recommend this head for any style of music from jass to heavy rock and everything in between. Evans you did it again!!!

Well Worth every Penny, Pillows take too much punch out of Bass Drums. My Kick Drum now Truly has more punch and attack with a great sense of presence... The External foam rings can be easily changed

this has to be the best bass drum head i have ever used it dampened, my otherwise bright and ringy bassdrum, to the point where i was debating wether or not i should still put a blanket in. (although i still ended up doing so because it was still too ringy for my style of music) i recommend this head to anyone looking for a new head

This bass drum head, the emad 2 can turn any kit around. It can take a low end bass drum and add as well as discover the full potential of the bass drum. It does wonders on my tama swingstar, and pearl export. This product is i believe to be essential to all drummers, for not only power and attack but as well as accenting the rest of your kit. For years I've used the EQ4 Batter with an Evans resonant and 2 of the Evans pillow deals. I decided to switch to the EMAD package. WOW!!! My bass drum has never sounded better. I have a Pearl Masters kit with 4Ply Maple. My bass drum sounds like a subwoofer kickin now. Incredible round bass tone with good attack. GET THIS HEAD SET NOW!

I've just recently delved into the fun world of recording drums in my home studio. As a guitarist, I must say that the journey has been an interesting one. To the point, I've learned that heads and tuning are everything to a drum track. Mics are secondary. This head blew me away and I cannot wait until the next session with my drummer.
