The Inspired by Gibson J-45 EC acoustic-electric guitar closely adheres to the classic Kalamazoo style. Known as the "workhorse" of acoustics, the J-45 has been the choice of legendary musicians since it was introduced in 1942. This slope-shouldered dreadnought is Gibson's most famous and most popular acoustic guitar. Epiphone's J-45 take incorporates the same style and history and adds a pickup system, making it a versatile instrument without the vintage price.

Epiphone spec'd their Inspired by Gibson J-45 EC acoustic-electric with all-solid-woods, pairing a Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides. The aged vintage gloss finish accentuates the grain underneath. Four-ply ivory and black binding outline the top; the back gets black.

Comfort is key with the rounded C-shaped mahogany neck. The fingerboard and the bridge are Indian laurel. Frets are medium jumbos.

The stage-ready Inspired by Gibson J-45 EC is easy to amplify with its Fishman Sonicore undersaddle pickup. Control the volume and tone with the soundhole-mounted Sonitone preamp. Other features include 3-on-a-plate tuners with ivory buttons and a bone nut.

This is a high-quality instrument with great sound. There's really nothing to complain about. The strap pin at the neck could be positioned differently but functions as is. The factory setup and intonation is exactly where it should be. The value for this instrument really can't be beat.

Great value in this all wood guitar. Plays well, stays in tune, good sounding instrument. The build quality is better than I was expecting - fit and finish is outstanding for this price range. The neck is comfortable and the set up out of the box was very good - no buzzing, no high frets. Very impressed.
