Best Sounding Column Line Array PA
I've extensively used the Bose system, but needed another cheaper option as a secondary system. I bought and returned the Turbosound system(too muddy and cheap feeling) and tested the JBL system(too scooped) only to finally give the EV a listen. Wow was I blown away. The Bose and JBL both have a hifi and bright quality to the sound that may work for some people, but the EV sounds straight up like a large venue PA. It's full, punchy, and just clear enough on the top end. This is hands down the best sounding column system I have used. The Bose offers far more options in terms of inputs and effects but you are paying for that as well. This would pair well with something like the Behringer X Air mixer/Ipad if you needed more input options. The throw is pretty wide as well. It's not quite as wide as the Bose, but beats out the other options. Phantom on the two combo inputs is a plus! The column has magnets that hold the pieces together better than other systems like the turbosound. Subwoofer isn't TOO heavy but the weight is definitely worth it for the sound. The two column pieces fit nicely into a gig bag that's provided. While it may not have as many inputs or features as the Bose or JBL, the punchy and full sound more than make up for it. Would highly recommend.

I would not buy this again
I bought this EV50 because I heard it in store. I've not had it 2 years and it broke. Won't turn on. Thankfully I purchased the 3 year warranty. Well.....not so great after all. Trying to get it fixed has been a nightmare. I filed a claim on May 13th....after much hassle I finally got it sent off yesterday. In one box which ended up costing me over a $100. So really not happy with this experience. I have purchased many items from guitar center before and I have had to return items and I have never had this horrible experience with their warranties before. So I found out that Assurrion is who has the warranty for this. Had I known that before hand I would not have bought the warranty. So now my almost $2,000 equipment is in the mail and I have no guarantee or timeline of when or if I will get it back.

Not a musician or sound guy, rather, purchased this PA for hosting home shows. Overall for my use and experience, it's been excellent. However, BlueTooth CONSTANTLY drops out, regardless if the source is in another room in my house, or literally sitting on the back of the PA.
Disappointed

have had the EV 50 for about three years, I only use it when performing single or as a duo (2 or 3 times per year). It has been a problem every time, Not enough volume on one or both mics weather by itself or with a board.

Hello. I am interested in purchasing the Evolve 50. Use is for church related indoor functions (large cafeteria) and a few outdoor events. Number of guests range from 200 - 400. My question is: would one Evolve 50 suffice...or do you recommend two? Music is background from my laptop and announcements. No thundering bass is needed for this application. Looking forward to your reply! Rick from Cleveland, Ohio 2.03.2023
I strongly recommend two. A little overkill can go a long way.submitted3 years ago

I have seen similar systems that say they can be set up behind the performers and have feedback rejection. However, I see no mention of that in this product description. Can this system be used in a similar fashion?
There is no on-board feedback destroyer but this product has DSP for quick/smart EQ, input level control, and metering to avoid clippingsubmitted5 years ago
