Echoplex Preamp

Description
Dunlop's EP101 Echoplex Preamp recreates the magic of the EP-3's front end, featuring a Field-effect Transistor (FET) just like the original and following the exact same signal path. The Gain control allows you to boost your signal by up to +11dB, with light asymmetrical clipping at higher settings for a bit of nice organic grit.
The Echoplex Preamp runs on standard 9-volt power and contains power management circuitry to guarantee constant headroom performance throughout the normal life of a 9-volt battery. With a heavy-duty Phase 90-sized housing, a replica EP-3 knob, true bypass switching and a status LED, the Echoplex Preamp is built to take a beating on the road so you can leave your fragile vintage piece at home.

Real Echoplex sound!

Always wanted the great edge boost that I used to get with my Echoplex of yesteryear! This pedal has it. I also love that it has a great range of volume because a lot of boost pedals aren't linear and ramp up to high volume too fast making it hard in a small room to get the right lead volume. Loving it!

Well I was ify at first about getting this cus I had a Lovepedal Echophonics delay, that I used with its boost to use on my other pedals but I felt like I needed more and I had the EP Booster before which is awesome but wasn't for me. So on a limb I bought the Echoplex and yes its exactly what everyone says it is....pretty much secret sauce. I put it last in my chain right next to the Echophonics pedal and both push my fuzz pedals into a loud, fuzzy mid like tone that is easy to cut thru a band mix. Adding this guy to a big muf pedal does wonders to its mid scoop sound!!! If you want that extra mids, polished bass and clean treble get this pedal.

This pedal didn't do much for me. Got it home, plugged it in, and noticed that it actually cut my signal until I turned it to about 5-6 on the dial, only then did it start boosting. It also added a little extra hair onto my signal. Some may call it special sauce, I thought it got in the way of the mojo I already had going with my setup. I ended up returning it for a different boost pedal.
Secret Sauce in a pedal!!!

I just bought this pedal a few weeks ago and it has made a big difference in the tone of my guitar amp. I am playing a Les Paul Studio 70's tribute through an Egnater Renegade. I was suprised that this little box would thicken up my tone so much and increase the natural harmonic prescence of my guitar. My guitar has mini-humbuckers, which have a really crisp clean tone but do not have the massive distorting ability of their humbucking big brothers. Not any more, my distorted guitar tone is so rich and thick now and I have no trouble doing pinch harmonics. I recommend this pedal to anyone wanting to overdrive their tube amp more without changing or coloring the natural tone of their amp. It might sound like a cliche but this is definitely a make your tone sound better pedal. Secret Sauce in a pedal!!!

I absolutely LOVE this thing! Gives your sound some extra gain and dirt and makes your tone punch through the mix. Tried it side by side with an EP Booster, and this thing sounded loads better. More clarity and power, and I felt that the EP Booster added bass and sounded a bit harsh compared to this. I highly recommend this pedal!
