Finally A Bag That Fits This Bass!

This bag is well worth it for those who bought the Dean Acoustic Bass. I bought the bass because I liked the Acoustic sound, the looks, the fact that I can play without an amp and most importantly, the portability for any outdoor experience. Of course to do this without destroying the beast involves having a case. In the beginning all I saw was the expensive hard case. I tried EVERY gig bag I could find, even the 'jumbo' ones for big guitars, they may fit the body but the head of the neck always stuck out about 5 inches, no reason spending good money on a gig bag for that I thought. Since no one had any for in store pick up I ordered this from GC online. I am very pleased with the bag as far as utility goes. It holds the bass just fine, good space for it with just a hair excess to allow for easy zipping. The bottom pouch is massive. I can imagine it easily fitting a practice amp, music books, a tune up box, etc. just fine. There are two things about this bag that are DIFFERENT than the photos shown! The first is actually a plus in my eyes, it has a small pouch near the top of the bag. This is great for holding my guitar strap, I also have a little plastic waterproof cigarette/lighter case with my picks and that fits fine with the strap and has a bit more space, very nice. Second thing different (and this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is the backpack straps are WAY different. These photos show the straps being bonded to the bag and made of thick cushiony material. The straps that came with the bag are just like any other gig bag straps. Granted they have swivel hooks to connect to the bag and rubber stress pads, but deep down inside they are just basic straps and nothing near as fancy feeling or looking as the image shown. One good thing about this could be if the straps break, the photos make it seem like they are a part of the bag so you are SOL, where if these break, well you can easily replace them, so I suppose I can easily upgrade them but I did kind of like the idea of the thick straps coming with the bag. Aside from that everything is good. The color of it looks better in person than the photos do, I thought it was kinda ugly but necessary, now that I see it I'm starting to like it more. I highly recommend getting this bag if you have a Dean or other Acoustic bass, those monsters are just too big for anything else. Now I can hike with it, take it to camp outs and with the guitar on my back it is easy to move around. Don't let it kid you into thinking it'll vanish like a Uke does, you will still have a good foot or so of neck sticking out above your head, watch out for door ways or low branches! Well worth the money, feels like it is good construction, lots of padding. It would be 5 stars if the photos were the exact same as what I got.

Pretty good but a little expensive.

I'ts a pretty good bag, and is the perfect fit for my Dean EABC Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Bass. The bag is a little flimsy but overall has good storage and size. For a bag of this quality, I'd expect it to be a little less expensive.

This gig bag is a great value for the price. Good padding, although you'll still want to use some care when tossing it in the van! There's room to add extra padding inside, like a large towel or small blanket. Large storage pockets and the Velcro strap for securing the neck is a nice feature. Unique color as well.

This is a very nice gig bag. It has several handles for carrying or straps for backpacking the bag. Good storage pockets. It is a little bit too big for my acoustic bass, but it will serve the purpose of providing some protection for the bass while in transport or when not in use at home. The color is interesting as most gig bags are black. I like the color; it's unique.

Don't waste your time shopping for a different type of case for your acoustic Dean guitar. Unless you prefer the dean Hardshell case for an extra $90. The dean guitar is simply way too big to fit in any other type of case. Trust me I learned the hard way trying to find a cheaper used hard shell. I like the gig bag versus the hard shell because I'm clumsy and I'm always running gear into the wall and this way I don't have to do drywall repairs. Im clumbsy when I'm hauling my equipment late at night after I drink a few beers. It's an absolute must have a case or gig bag if you travel with your big ol' Dean Bass anywhere. When you take a turn , you might take out a window of your vehicle, or if you have to slam on the brakes, you'll get a big surprise.

  • The Dean EAB fits in it fine

My Dean EAB fit in the bag fine. I wish it had more padding at the bottom of the bag.

Why would you list a guitar case for sale and NOT include the dimensions!??? Maybe it's one of those one size fits all cases?? Maybe they should start removing the shoe sizes on New Shoes!

Hello like many here I've had trouble finding a case for my Dean Performer 32" scale acoustic bass guitar. I see DEAN makes a hard shell case but it's price exceeds value of the bass. My question is will that bag fit that bass which is 47" in length 17 1/2" lower bout. I purchased the bass in back in the early 2000's and it came with a Rogue gig bag which is not much protection. Does this bag have better padding then that? Thank you.
