Description
These nickel-plated strings feature an exclusive high-carbon steel core and reformulated wrap wire engineered for unparalleled strength, tuning stability and tone. The NYXL0942 set provides a versatile 9-42 gauge range perfect for standard tuning on most electric guitars.
High-Carbon Steel Core Provides Unmatched Durability
At the heart of the NYXL string is a specially engineered high-carbon steel core wire. This proprietary alloy delivers up to 131% greater tuning stability and longer string life compared to traditional nickel-plated strings. The NYXL's are built to handle extreme techniques without breaking, allowing you to perform radical bends, aggressive picking and whammy bar dives with confidence.
Enhanced Magnetic Properties Produce Bold, Balanced Tone
D'Addario's reformulated nickel-plated windings have been optimized for magnetic pickup response, producing a powerful, well-balanced tone with enhanced brightness and punch. The midrange is slightly scooped for a tone that cuts through a mix while still being rich and full. These strings will make your guitar sing with exceptional clarity, projection and sustain.
Corrosion-Resistant Coating Means Longer Life
An advanced corrosion-resistant tin coating is applied to the plain steel before winding for maximum protection against tone-robbing oxidation and corrosion. Even with heavy playing, the NYXL's retain a bright, crisp tone for an exceptionally long period of time. You'll enjoy consistent performance and tone for the life of the strings.
Premium Materials and Precision Craftsmanship
Like all D'Addario products, the NYXL strings are built using the highest quality materials and manufacturing techniques. Made in New York, these strings undergo a rigorous multi-stage quality inspection to ensure flawless performance, maximum lifespan and unparalleled consistency. Now available at Guitar Center, the NYXL0942 set provides an unbeatable combination of tone, tuning stability and value.

Great for Worship Leads
I've been leading worship in churches for about 9 years now and I've usually bounced between 9-10 gauge elixir and D'Addario XL strings. About a month ago I was at a local guitar shop and two of the workers told me the NYXL's are "the best strings in the world." I took their word for it, coughed up the extra $5 to buy them and found that THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. I've been using the NYXL 9's for about three weeks playing lead guitar at church and jamming out every other day with some buddies of mine. Aside from playing contemporary worship I also play a bit of blues and jazz. The strings have worked well for all three. They are extremely easy to bend and feel great on your fingers - I'm pretty sure they're coated but they don't feel like it! Compared to the regular D'Addario XL's, they definitely feel better on your fingers and offer a brighter tone. The first thing you'll notice after winding them up is how fast they "break in" and keep tone. After winding them up, I gave them their initial tuning, stretched them out, and they were almost still in perfect tune. There's no need to repeat the stretching process 4-5 times before they're ready to go. After three weeks they still sound nice and bright and feel great. Keep in mind that I do wipe them down after every session and condition them often. The bottom line: these have absolutely been the best strings I've ever used. Keep in mind, I've only ever stuck with Elixir strings and D'Addario XL's on my electric guitars, but I don't see myself going back. If you're looking for strings you can bend all the way back while maintaining durability and freshness, these are the way to go! They are a bit more expensive than others but the price is absolutely worth it. For my next set I plan to try 10 gauge NYXL's just to compare them to the 9's.

I will not ever buy these strings again.
I bought these strings because they claim they don't break. Well, less than 72 hrs broke. Very disappointed. I'm not a critic most of the time, I will not post negative things. But hey, I can save you time and money. These feel like rubber bands under my fingers. The best string I have found for the money and best sounding most durable if your A speed picker and bender like me. Is the Gibson Les Paul signatures. Very good strings for the money.

I currently have four guitars. One by one I have been putting nyxl on my fb for over 6 months. The strings all still sound nice and bright and hold tuning like fresh strings.
