I bought these to keep my Partscaster Strat strung up for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Robin Trower tunes. Tuning holds great. Nice big sounds with single coils. Tune to Eb or D and they are not flapping. Solid feeling. May need to raise action a bit or not at all. Just depends on your style.

I like EXL 145 strings on my lapsteel because they are thicker than most strings

If you are a finger picker on your acoustic guitar and want the same feel on your Telecaster then these strings will do the trick for Jazz or Blues without a problem.

This strings are awesome! Some guitars may need to be set up before putting this set on, but I have a guitar that didn't need it. The only flaw is that Standard tuning, Drop D, and half step down tuning has a lot of tension. If you use any of those 3 tunings, you'll get great and precise intonation, but it feels like your strings will break any second. You can go down to C# Standard, C standard, even to Drop B no problem. This is great because I use those tunings a lot. If you use low tunings, GET 'EM!! I've had them on for 3 months, and their still in great shape. Never tune up with these. I bet the'll snap. Use a capo instead.
