I've not played a dobro a lot but have been around many. But my opinion is that I'm not getting the sound that I'd like out of these. The old strings had more of a ring to them. My opinion.

Strings sound great and have an excellent tone. They are loud and clear, and tune up quickly. I can always rely on D'Addario for high quality.

I recently acquired a dobro guitar from a cousin, I told him I was interested in learning to play bottle neck slide guitar. I replaced the strings with the normal medium gauge strings, but the 1st and 2nd strings tones sounded a bit thin. I was browsing strings of the Guitar Center website and saw the D'Addario resophonic strings I noticed that the 1st and 2nd strings were of a heavier gauge. As I tune the guitar to open G or D, I noticed a much fuller tone. I a very happy with the strings and would reccomend them to anyone who has a resophonic guitar.
