Description
Slightly larger than the Requinto 580, the Cadete is a 3/4-size guitar (615 mm scale length). It has the traditional Spanish 7 fan bracing, a solid cedar top, and mahogany back and sides. Additional features include a hand-inlaid wooden rosette, gold tuning machines with pearl buttons and a rosewood fingerboard. An adjustable truss rod is built into the neck. This is a great guitar for anyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable and easy-playing instrument.
The Cordoba Cadete comes strung with high-tension Savarez guitar strings, which are meant to be used in standard E tuning only. For a guitar that is designed to withstand higher-pitched tunings, consider Cordoba's C1 1/4, C1 1/2 or Requinto 580.

A Great Voice in a Little Package
I wish I could rate this with decimal points...if I could I'd rate it at 4.5. I think a lot of people blow off "student" guitars due to the label. As we move through life, we are tempted to label things; this is a bad practice because it closes the mind to possibilities. I compose/arrange and record my own stuff, since I play multiple instruments. I have yet to find that darker-sounding guitar--spruce tops are too bright for my purposes--that projects well, until now. This guitar will be used to provide rhythmic comping for jazz-bossa compositions...I'm stoked! Yes, while not perfect, at this price I challenge you to find a guitar from such a highly-respected manufacturer, with virtually flawless construction and with such unexpectedly superior sound projection AND with a neck that's easy on smaller hands, like mine. As one would expect from Cordoba, the construction and finish were worthy of a top-of-the-line classical. Nothing fancy--I hate paying for cosmetics, kinda like dating a high-maintenance woman--but what they provide is of superior quality. Great gig bag, too!

My wife and I ordered two brand new guitars - Cordoba C3M and Cordoba Cadete and chose to pick up the items in a nearby Guitar Center store. Three times, not one, three times they sent us used items. The employee at the store was very helpful but nevertheless we had to go through this terrible experience of going to the store only to find out that the items were used/damaged, requesting for refunds and reordering them. Yesterday, when it happened for the third time, we decided not to reorder them anymore. This is just unacceptable; we wasted more than 12 hours of our time and didn't get the items at the end. I know the guitars are good, I played them before. We really waited for the guitars and Guitar Center was not able to offer us any solution.

I am a small body person and had been played a full size guitar. I get old(67) and my body gets smaller while the full size bigger everyday. That is the reason I bought this 3/4 size, This guitar has unexpecting big chocolaty sounds and I am now very happy to play. However, this happiness happened after paying $60 for lowering the height of strings.

It's a good guitar for the money; I use it for practicing trouble spots, so I can save my small hands the extra stretch. For a beginner, a child, or in my case, as a practice instrument, it's great. The sound quality is not great (and the action is a bit high), but again, for the price, it can't be beat.

The guitar I purchased was a blemish model. The blemish is a basically an unattractive cedar top, uneven color with some dark spots. The guitar itself sounds and plays well. The fret ends were sharp and needed rounding. Overall, I am pleased with this guitar. I would recommend this make and model to anyone looking for a children's guitar or a great adult travel guitar.
