    "Figured koa" refers to a visual pattern in the koa wood grain that gives it a decorative, three-dimensional appearance. Figuring occurs when the grain of the wood grows in irregular patterns due to natural variations like changes in growth direction, knots, or environmental conditions. It results in visual effects such as: Flame (wavy lines like fire) Curl (tight, regular ripples)
