Introducing Bose L1 Pro Portable Line Array Systems

L1 Pro – SubMatch Connection Overview

Description
The Bose L1 Pro16 system offers a streamlined balance of power and portability, making it an excellent choice for performers and event hosts who need reliable, professional-grade sound. Its innovative design features a 16-driver J-shaped line array that delivers a wide 180-degree horizontal dispersion, ensuring consistent audio coverage for the entire audience. With a built-in subwoofer powered by Bose's proprietary RaceTrack technology, the system produces an extended low-frequency response down to 42Hz, providing rich, full-bodied sound. Compact and easy to transport, the L1 Pro16 is designed for gigging DJs, small venues, and karaoke setups, delivering uncompromising audio quality in a small footprint.
RaceTrack Subwoofer Delivers Deep Bass
At the core of the L1 Pro16 is its advanced RaceTrack subwoofer, engineered to combine high-performance sound with space-saving design. Measuring just 10"x18", the woofer rivals the output of a conventional 15" driver while maintaining a slimmer, more portable profile. This optimized design not only enhances bass response but also improves the system's center of gravity, making it easier to transport and set up. Paired with the 16-driver J-shaped line array, the subwoofer provides a balanced and powerful low-end, ideal for delivering impactful bass without the bulk of traditional systems.
Integrated Mixer With Flexible Inputs
The L1 Pro16 includes a built-in mixer with versatile input options to accommodate a wide range of audio sources. It features two phantom-powered combo inputs for XLR or 1/4" connections, as well as 1/4" and 3.5 mm AUX inputs for additional devices. Bluetooth connectivity enables wireless streaming, making it easy to play backing tracks or music directly from your phone or tablet. Illuminated rotary encoders offer quick access to volume, tone, and reverb settings, and EQ presets are available for live or recorded music. This integrated mixer provides comprehensive control, ensuring optimal sound in any performance scenario.
Speaker Array With Durable Design for Professional Use
Built with gigging professionals in mind, the L1 Pro16 features a lightweight yet sturdy construction that stands up to the demands of frequent travel and performance. The compact column and subwoofer design allow for quick assembly and teardown, saving valuable setup time. Materials are carefully chosen to ensure longevity, while the system's modular components make it easy to transport and store. Despite its portable size, the L1 Pro16 delivers a maximum SPL of 124dB, proving that powerful sound doesn't have to come at the expense of convenience or durability.
Pro Speaker System Designed for Performers and Event Hosts
The Bose L1 Pro16 is tailored for gigging musicians, DJs, and event professionals who need a reliable, portable sound system that doesn't compromise on quality. Its compact design makes it ideal for small-to-medium venues, while its 180-degree dispersion ensures even coverage for audiences. Whether you're hosting a karaoke night, performing live, or running an event, the L1 Pro16 provides the clarity and power needed to elevate your sound. Explore the Bose L1 Pro16 to experience professional-grade audio performance in a portable package.

Everything I hoped, and more...!
I have been wanting to put together a single act for awhile, and now with the reduced entertainment budgets and less venues for bands (at least for now), I decided to finally put it all together. I haven't used this in a gig situation yet -- still nailing down the material and the arrangements... But I'm looking forward to getting out there! This is truly pro-level gear! Still early days with the unit, so I can't comment on durability yet. However, with regard to sound quality, it is superb! It makes me sound better than I really am! While shopping for this item, I saw several comments in online reviews about a low-volume (but still perceptible) high frequency buzz coming out of the speakers even when all the channels were muted. Thankfully, this is not the case with the unit I received. If this has been an issue in the past, it has either been resolved, or it is a limited defect of manufacturing or handling, and not a fundamental design issue (as some people had been implying online). My unit is whisper quiet. Other people have raised concerns about the plastic spacer that mounts between the sub and the upper speaker array. I can say that this is fairly light-weight plastic, so it probably should be handled with some care when connecting and disconnecting. However, I should also mention that this piece is not very long, and installing it is optional. If you are concerned, you can always install the upper speaker array directly to the sub, which will only reduce the height of the column by inches (rather than feet). I'm guessing that unless I see a need for the extra height, I'll probably skip the spacer most of the time to avoid any issues. If the scattered reports of buzzing or the lightweight spacer are making you hesitate, STOP HESITATING! This personal PA is the perfect balance of portability and killer sound that will make your single, duo, or small group sound great in any small to medium-sized venue! (A stereo pair would be even more awesome...!)

Maybe I'm missing something.
I purchased 2 pro16's, a T8S mixer, cables, adapters and splitters. First, how do I play recorded music and/or live music in stereo? Secondly, it seems app only lets you control 1 speaker at a time. Is that correct?

I have been using the L1 model two for many years, these L1 Pro 16s used in tandem to DJ with are just amazing. Set up is actually easier with two of them than what I was using and the sound is simply spectacular. Throw and coverage in a large room using two of these is tremendous. Don't hesitate, pull the trigger and make it happen

Can I connect a microphone, iPad and bass guitar to this unit?
Yes, the Bose L1 Pro8 Portable PA System With Bluetooth can accommodate a microphone, an iPad, and a bass guitar, but with some conditions and considerations: Microphone Inputs Available: The L1 Pro8 has two combo XLR-1/4" inputs on the rear panel. Use: You can plug a dynamic microphone directly into one of the combo jacks. Phantom Power: It does not provide phantom power, so if you're using a condenser microphone, you'll need an external phantom power supply. iPad You have two options: Via Bluetooth: The L1 Pro8 supports Bluetooth streaming, so you can wirelessly stream music from your iPad. Ideal for backing tracks, DJ sets, or background music. Via Aux Input: There’s a 3.5mm stereo aux input that you can use with a TRS to TRS cable from the iPad’s headphone jack (if it has one) or via a Lightning/USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Bass Guitar Direct Connection: You can plug a bass directly into one of the combo inputs. Considerations: It works best with an active bass. For a passive bass, the input gain might be a bit low, so consider using a DI box or a preamp pedal for proper signal level and tone shaping. The L1 Pro8 is not a dedicated bass amp, so while it handles full-range sound well, it won't deliver the same low-end punch as a traditional bass rig. For low-volume gigs or background music, it’s perfectly fine.submitted3 months ago

Would this be good for school assemblies/graduation/other events? Would need to reach 150-300 person outdoor audiences, mostly just speaking. Could it be hooked up to a wireless mic receiver?
1) Yes, the Bose L1 Pro16 Portable PA System would be a strong choice for school assemblies, graduations, and similar events — even outdoors for crowds of 150–300 people, especially when the primary use is speech (e.g., wireless mic for announcements, presentations, etc.). 2) Absolutely. The L1 Pro16 has: 2 combo XLR/TRS inputs (with phantom power and individual EQ) So you can plug your wireless mic receiver (like a Shure, Sennheiser, etc.) directly into one of those inputs. You can also connect more inputs via a small mixer if needed (if you're using multiple mics or need additional EQ control).submitted3 months ago

Q1-where do I connect the microphone set to this unit Q2- I have an old Bose system with small speaker-model 20. Can I connect those speakers into this unit?
1) It connects to one of the two inputs in the back. 2) I’m sorry, I don’t know. If they can accept an XLR and if they are powered, it should work.submitted10 months ago
