Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass Rosewood Fretboard Electric Bass Guitar:
When Music Man announced at NAMM 2016 they were finally creating a completely passive bass I was very excited and was looking forward to trying one out. I had just bought 2 Made in America P basses new from Guitar Center specifically for studio work. I then played a Cutlass bass and returned my 2 MIA P basses for 2 Cutlass basses. Comparing them to Fender, there is no comparison. Yes, these are slightly more expensive than a MIA P basses but the quality is night and day difference so the extra expense it well worth the cost. Also, I have found from personal experience that Ernie Ball/Music Man has some of the best customer service in the business if you do have an issue. Much better than Fender.
The ergonomics on this bass is really good too. The bass is a very balanced bass and has amazing tone. Music Man did a fantastic job on this bass and got it right on their first passive model to be put into production.
I have used my Cutlass basses in the recording studio, and multiple live settings of various sizes and they have performed flawlessly. They have a great live sound and tracked sound.
