Period. It is academic and in-depth method to invest years (or a life-time) into the study of the music and the instrument. If you are a passionate amateur who wants to play songs - stay away. If you want to become a jazz master and ready to study and not looking for a fast result - go for it. It starts with basics and goes far. Very far!

I ordered this book to gain additional ways to teach my students since I am self taught. The discription is misleading, when I got the book it stated inside the first page this book was designed to teach a person how to read music !
