The Deco Phonic Sidecar is the flagship, do-it-all model of the Deco line. The classic and compact Beard “R” body shape is comfortable and appealing. The solid spruce top with mahogany Aero bracing provides a rich, balanced sound with slightly pronounced midrange response. The Sidecar is great for fingerstyle and blues. An incredibly subtle soft V-shape mahogany neck and 14-fret range provide plenty of comfort and access. As always, all Deco guitars are handmade in small batches in Hagerstown, Maryland.

With a tonality and projection that contradicts the smaller body profile, the Beard “R” body shape features a time-honored appearance. Vintage Re-imagined
Aesthetically, Deco Phonic acoustic guitars by Beard are a shameless love letter to a time gone by. Inspired by the art deco period of the 1920s and 1930s, their classic colors and familiar details strike a natural chord. The soft C, almost V-shaped necks, aged tuners, and simplistic finish, pay homage to the well-loved depression era instruments. Yet the refined body shapes add a subtle and fresh stylistic perspective.

Aero X Bracing
At the heart of every Deco Phonic ®acoustic guitar is our innovative Aero X Bracing. Our goal was to create a lightweight super responsive guitar top. To achieve this, we combined aircraft style weight relief, a method of carving the inside of the brace, with mahogany to reduce the weight while maintaining support. Something that is difficult with traditional spruce top braces. This noticeably improves the volume and projection of the guitar, as well as the responsiveness and touch sensitivity of the strings.
