    Great low end & great high end response compared to most analog compressors makes it sound like some high end studio compressors Ive used…Impressive! No need for a blend knob due to the exceptional high end presence this thing has. Has excellent input signal headroom due to the 9v to 18v internal voltage pump! (uses standard 9v adapter). Very easy to use & cant really make it sound bad. No weird pumping that some compressors do…Very pristine sounding. Its also the quietest compressor Ive ever owned when it comes to audible hiss. Ive personally never liked the 3 other Boss compressors but this CP-1X really sounds good! Ive never been a huge Boss fanboy but they won me over with their signal processing tech when I purchased the SY-1000 synth….incredible tracking with no noticeable latency. The first polyphonic guitar synth that uses regular guitar pickups…Boss/Roland has really developed some VERY impressive signal processing technology! The only compressor I might have rather had over the CP-1X is the Origin Effects Cali76..but its more than twice the price of the Boss and its easier to screw your tone up if you don't really know what your doing. If I was more of a chicken picker I might have considered the Wampler Ego…. but Im very glad I purchased the Boss CP-1X…did I mention it looks cooler than their standard pedals and has some heft to it considering its so small. Love it!

    High Quality transparent dynamic compression. Ranges from clean boost to nice squish effect. Low noise ceiling. MDP system makes me sound like a pro and every setting is usable. Very addictive pedal that is hard to not have always on after your ears hear it. I choose this over the Keeley+

    I've owned probably 50 compressors in my life including all the Boss pedals, Keeley, Xotic, Diamond, Barber, Wampler, original script Dyna Comp, new Dyna comp, etc. Here's my take on the new CP-1X. It's very musical and is currently on my board with the Xotic SP. I use once always on at low compression and one as a more "Squishy" pedal for clean and overdriven leads. It compares favorably with the 4 knob Keeley which is a great pedal. I like it much better than the CS-3 or the old CS-2 which I also used to have. Compression pedals are very subjective and a lot depends on your setup, guitar, amp, etc. The pedals I mentioned earlier are all good a the CP-1X is in that group. The original Dyna Comp I had in 1978 was the best but I didn't realize what i had at the time. Grade A-
