collapse expand iconDescription

The ART S8 can be used to split eight balanced low impedance microphone signals into sixteen (eight pairs). Each channel of the S8 Microphone Splitter provides one direct output and one transformer isolated output from a single microphone, making it the ideal signal splitting solution for dividing mic signals for separate Front-of-House monitor mixes, or for remote recording applications. The direct outputs pass phantom power from the main mixer to the microphones for use with condenser microphones. The S8 includes a ground-lift switch on each isolated output to reduce hum due to ground loops between connected AC-powered units. For versatility the S8 mic splitter also features an attenuator pad switch on each input that can be used to connect preamplified signals to the two microphone-level outputs on each channel. Typical preamplified signals would originate from instrument preamplifiers, mixers, keyboards, etc.

With such an extensive history of making audio processors, ART has consistently set new industry standards and watched competitors follow their innovation and the ART S8 Microphone Splitter is no exception. ART continues to set the bar for high-quality audio products at a reasonable cost to audio enthusiasts of all types.

I use this to split the channels between our instrument and recording device and the main Venue mix. We also added the in ear monitoring functions. This is a great splitter, with no noise or malfunction! works great!

I've carried 4 of these in an In Ear rack on international tours for the past 4 years. Haven't had a single issue with the split at all, not ONCE was there a noise issue (by fault of anything split related) that wasn't something as simple as a ground lift. Phenomenal piece of gear, definitely road worthy, beats the price of almost any touring split that has an ISO and Ground Lift built in. Picking up 6 more for my Midas DL251 rack...

This unit has all the features it needs for being a mic splitter and completely lived up to my expectations. My first impression upon lifting it out of the box was that it felt rock solid and road worthy. After removing the plastic wraping I was even more convinced I had purchaced a Quality mic splitter. The unit is nicely finished and all the swicthes and XLR recepticles are heavy duty. As far as being reliable, time will tell as I have only owned two of these units for about 2 1/2 months, but so far they have performed as I expected. Also, I put this gem through a little test to see if I could tell the difference between the direct out and the isolation tranformer out, by recording both outs on separate tracks on my roland vs 2480 and then auditioning each track separately. There was no discernable difference, to my ears it appeared identicle. I have recorded a few live performances with it and I am completely happy with the sound quality. Nice product !! Well worth the money !
