Alesis Recital Pro | 88-Key Digital Piano with Hammer-Action Keys

Description
Powerful Educational Features
The Alesis Recital has an incredibly useful feature called "Lesson Mode." This feature divides the 88 keys into two zones with the same pitch and voice. This enables both the student and teacher to easily watch each other and play together without having to take turns or reach over one another. Recital also features a 1/4" (6.35 mm) headphone output which mutes the internal speakers for convenient, quiet private practice.
All the Right Connections
In addition to the 1/4" (6.35 mm) sustain pedal input (pedal not included) and the 1/4” (6.35 mm) stereo headphone output, Recital also features stereo RCA outputs to connect to a recorder, mixer, amplifier or other sound system. Recital also features a USB-MIDI output for connecting to a computer and using educational software or virtual instrument plug-ins. Recital can be powered using the included power supply or by 6 D cell batteries (not included).

Great Keyboard for Beginners

I bought this to learn on and it's been amazing for me. Don't pay attention to these experienced piano players complaining about the sounds; It is a great beginner keyboard. The speakers are ok, obviously not the best but they're not horrible. I use them and sometimes to get the better sound, I use my studio headphones because you get the real sound out of this keyboard. I'm sure if you hooked up some PA speakers to it it would sound a lot better. Overall this keyboard is cheap making it a very cost-effective keyboard for beginners or someone who is experienced and would like something within budget. For what the cost is, it's very well made, and the features it offers are nice. If you are interested in this keyboard, watch some youtube reviews and listen to how it sounds digitally. It's pretty good for what it is. Don't let others' opinions on quality stop you from buying something that you may actually love and become great with :D
Decent for the price

For the price, action and feel is okay — definitely not great. Volume is pretty low unless you use PA or Amplifier (does have multiple output jacks making this easy). Piano sounds are okay. Electric Piano and synth are great. Organ sounds are not good. Nothing else is usable. Lots of features/options mixing of sounds and ability to transpose is nice. It's between 3 and 3.5 stars overall. Decent for the price but if you are experienced or playing live you probably want something else.

I read the good reviews and thought I would give it a try. I have a 30 year old Yamaha that now clacks whenever I play so I just wanted a new and inexpensive keyboard that I could practice on at home. I guess I don't like the semi-hammer touch and my ears couldn't stand the piano sound coming from the speakers. I am returning it immediately. So sad.

I am trying to use my wireless headphones with a mini connector (3.5) through an adapter to the Alesis Recital Pro 6.35 connector and no sound comes through the headphones (the speakers on the piano are cut off though). The headphones work with other devices. Is there a special adapter I need?

The item name lists this as the Alesis Recital Pro but the description is for the Alesis Recital. The Recital Pro has hammer action weighted keys while the regular Recital has semi-weighted keys. Which item is this?
I am very sorry for the confusion. It's the Pro.submitted3 years ago
