Ahead

These Metal Fuse 2B sticks from Ahead are a fusion of two normally incompatible attributes. Fusing the lightweight feel of jazz sticks with the sturdy resilience of heavy metal sticks, these uncharacteristically slim rock 2B stick offers barrel tips, a unique weighting and a long taper.

fantastic set of sticks. I tried out the tommy lee 2bs and felt they were just too bulky/heavy to have much finesse in the way of dynamics and also speed. paired with the ahead grip tape ive used these sticks every day an hour plus a day for a month and a half with no issues yet. great balance, size and weight

I recently bought a pair of Ahead Metal Fusion 2B Aluminum sticks. I've always been against aluminum or carbon fiber because they just didn't compare to the natural wood feel but I'm pretty sure this particular style was made for me. They have polyurethane sleeves that you replace after too much ware. They're heavier, longer, more tapered and absorb 50% less shock. I was a non believer until I purchased this particular brand and size. I don't think I'll be going back.

I've played ahead for a while but just started using these sticks. The balance is perfect. Although the stick is fairly good size I find it easy to play with control and all volume levels due to the length, weight, and balance. Ahead gets a bad wrap for being 'basher' sticks but this is far from the truth. Why wouldn't any drummer benefit from the vibration reduction, consistency, and durability of Ahead sticks. I haven't seen any other drummers downtown Nashville playing with Ahead sticks. I don't understand the stigma but I believe if more players try them they will fall in love with them.

Hello, I've tried the AHEAD fiberglass (?) black sticks with the replacement sleeves. I had a very difficult time keeping the nylon tips screwed on, and kept having them fly off during playing. Are these used the same way? I'm older and the shock to my thumbs is somewhat bothersome. I wear gloves to play due to hand weakness. Thank you all, RJB
