Great sound and nice features in a good-looking amp!

I lead worship at our church and play several outdoor events every year. For years I have used my Crate CA125 amp and it has served me well, but I could never get a really nice sound out of it and had to play through an old DOD Acoustec pedal to get a sound that was close to what I wanted. Out of curiousity I plugged into the Acoustic A40 at Guitar Center, and wow! The tone was amazing. Wonderful bass response and really nice, clear highs. I like the simple interface, an easy to manipulate 3-band EQ with a sweepable mid. I like the less is more approach that they've taken with this amp - the bottom line is it's very easy to get a nice sound. The preset effects are nice, I really like the reverb effects and the chorus is nice too. The amp also has phaser, delay, and flanger, but I wouldn't have much use for those unless I was recording lead guitar lines for a backing track or something like that. The Bluetooth is great! The 1/8" aux input jack on the front is very useful also. There is no individual volume control for these two, you just control your volume on the device you're using and it sounds very clean with a wide volume range. The amp comes with 20 preset effects patches, most of which are pretty nice (but not #19, oh it's horrible). There are also 20 channels available for user presets. What's less than stellar? Editing effects. Very unintuitive and at times frustrating, and the manual isn't much help. It took me some time and trial & error to get things dialed in how I wanted. I do like that I can take an existing effects setting, add other effects to taste, and then save it as a user preset complete with a programmable name of my choice, pretty cool. When you have an effect turned on you get it on both channels, no choice there but with reverb and a little chorus it works very well for guitar and vocals. If you need more flexibility you could step up and get the A1000, but for a player like me this amp has all I need. 2 thumbs up.

Product Appears to suffer from poor workmanship

I purchased this amp for playing out. I use it as a guitar & vocals monitor and line out to the main PA system. I bought the pro-coverage which was a good thing. After owning the product for about a year, I was playing an outdoor show and the amp died in the middle of a song. Guitar center did replace it under the pro-coverage plan, however after another year, the replacement is acting up, cutting out when I sing and play at the same time. I recently purchased Marshall AS50D 50W to replace it. Another negative is the fact that any effects you apply to the guitar also will be applied to the vocals and there does not appear to be anyway to separate this. My bandmate bought an Acoustic A20 amp and has issues with the direct out line to the PA. Bottom line this product is not very robust or reliable, definitely not for professional musicians who need their equipment to be dependable. In the future, I will stay away the Acoustic Brand all together.

Used this at my last full band show. The amp alone is limited, but the volume controlled direct out produces a great warm acoustic tone that blended with the other instruments perfectly.

  • Without question I would recommend this amp!

I was looking for an amp for my Ibanez Aeg 70, and my Guild OM-260CE, and this amp gives me everything I need and then some. I watched several reviews, but one in particular clown ran this amp in the ground, it was because he didn't like the electronics. He liked easy But I love it!

I'm a singer-songwriter and had just started playing at local cafes and wineries when I bought this amp for basic sound. It's easy to use and sounds great. (love the short room reverb.) However, while playing a gig after 2 yrs the amp just quit, with no sound coming through at all.

I wanted a good sounding acoustic amp with effects at a reasonable price. This product fits that bill nicely. There are a couple of problems. First, the user interface for setting parameters is terrible. Second, this amp does not remember those parameters unless saved as preset.

If it pairs with your phone, it sounds like an issue with the laptop.

It's not recommended. This will not be very loud and will not handle low frequencies well. This amp is meant for guitar. There is a possibility of speaker damage. Please give us a call to help you find something – 877-68-54073
