Overview

The Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Capo is slightly curved and 2" across. This caop fits almost all acoustic steel-string and electric guitars.

The Original C-Series steel string capo features a patented locking action that provides an unrivaled combination of power, speed, accuracy and ease of use. One smooth flip of the lever locks it securely in place-and removes it just as quickly.

And the Shubb C-Series capo doesn't create tuning problems. Its soft, resilient rubber is specially designed to work just like a fingertip, so the capo doesn't bend the strings over the frets. Its closing action is just like your hand's, so the Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo doesn't pull strings off center. As a result, no retuning is necessary.

I use the Shubb Original C Series Steel String Capo on both my acoustic and electric guitars. Pretty basic capo that is well-constructed and has held up perfect for years. Not as fancy as others that latch on with spring tension, but you can adjust the tension yourself and be sure it stays on tight. This is not the capo for you if you need to shift around mid-song, otherwise it is all you need.

This capo works very well for standard capo use. Its sleek, small, easy to use, fits any size neck with ease, all that. But one major problem ive had with it is if you capo anything less then all six strings, the string pressure becomes uneven. Especially on the low e string. Unlike kyser or dunlop capos which have a longer, less curved back piece, if you dont adjust it just right it lays on the E string too lightly which doesnt allow the string to vibrate. This may not be a problem for people who dont experiment with this specific technique, but for those who do, its bothersome.

Works Great

By ron rossi

from Lower Bucks, PA

Just got a C1 capo to replace a inexpensive closepin style capo i had for about a year. Looks like the spring tension started to become uneven and resulted in muted low e or high e strings. The Shubb seems to apply even pressure all the way across the neck. I also like the way the tension can be adjusted and that it's small profile doesn't get in the way. Works great.

Best Capo - Period

By Christopher Davis

from Central Connecticut

Purchased the Shubb Original-C after years of using spring-loaded Dunlop-type capos. I'll never go back. Easy to set the tension so as not to be too tight. It won't make your tuning go sharp like the Dunlop-type capos can if you have larger frets. Awesome product!

The Best Capo, Now Even Better

By Jay Gould _

from Hidden Valley Lake, CA

I have used Shubb capos for years and have found them to be the best out there. They release and re-set easily for quick changes between songs, and sometimes even within a song. And the rubber seems to never wear out or get permanently notched string grooves. The two changes made in this new model make them even better. The roller locking mechanism makes locking easier with less of a "snap" sound that can sometimes be distracting or picked up accidentally when the guitar is amped. And with the tip of the release handle now bent downward some, it is much easier grab with a finger to release. I have 6 of the older style now, and think I'll replace them all.

Superior Capo

By Gene Aldridge

from Memphis Tenn.

I am agree with Melissa. I used Kyser capos for 30 years. I had seen professional guitarist using the Schubb capo quite a bit, so I decided I would try one. It is the best capo I have ever had, and it is accurate and plays true. I just wish you could clap it on the end of the guitar.

Love this capo!

By Melissa

from Winchester, VA

I've used many different capos, and this is by far my favourite! I rarely if ever use standard tuning, and generally play in double drop D and D modal tuning, and I'm always using a capo. My last capo was a kyser, and while it served it's purpose nicely, I will never go back to it after using a shubb capo. Other capos seem to pinch the strings while this capo only puts the necessary amount of pressure on the strings, so once the capos on and adjusted you hardly need to do much retuning when changing capo position, which is excellent! I play a Martin OM with a modified low oval neck, and the capo molds beautifully to the shape and works brilliantly in all positions on the neck. No intonation is sacrificed.

Thin, Sleek, Invisible.

By Jorge

from mongomery, il

I ordered this capo because my old one was worn. Just about the best buy when it comes to capos. It has adjustable pressure so you dont have to worry about it not fitting your acoustic or electric neck. It uses a rubber piece to press on your fret board and a second rubber piece to hold it in place. Great product. I would give it six stars.

The best capo ever

By G.W. Norman

This is the best capo ever! The first one I bought was over 15 years ago. The only reason I am buying the second is due to my son losing the first one.

Sigh...

By ---------------

Nice capo, I was okay with the whole having to adjust with the screw and everything. Had it for about a year now, but it's started to go funny on me. I really liked it, but I think I'm going to try the cheap Kayser one, just to see how it goes. Overall it's a great capo though :D
