Overview

The Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Capo is slightly curved and 2" across. This caop fits almost all acoustic steel string and electric guitars.

The Original C-Series steel string capo features a patented locking action that provides an unrivaled combination of power, speed, accuracy and ease of use. One smooth flip of the lever locks it securely in place”and removes it just as quickly.

And the Shubb C-Series capo doesn't create tuning problems. Its soft, resilient rubber is specially designed to work just like a fingertip, so the capo doesn't bend the strings over the frets. Its closing action is just like your hand, so the Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo doesn't pull strings off center. As a result, no re-tuning is necessary.

I use the Shubb Original C Series Steel String Capo on both my acoustic and electric guitars. Pretty basic capo that is well-constructed and has held up perfect for years. This is not the capo for you if you need to shift around mid-song, otherwise it is all you need.

This capo works very well for standard capo use. Its sleek, small, easy to use, fits any size neck with ease, all that. But one major problem ive had with it is if you capo anything less then all six strings, the string pressure becomes uneven. Especially on the low e string. Unlike kyser or dunlop capos which have a longer, less curved back piece, if you dont adjust it just right it lays on the E string too lightly which doesnt allow the string to vibrate. This may not be a problem for people who dont experiment with this specific technique, but for those who do, its bothersome.

Slick and Durable = quality.

By lamchopsuey

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

The neat thing about shubb capos is that when you put it on, it looks almost invisible on the fretboard. Plus its made to last and easy to use, simply clip it on. And it looks comfortable on the guitar like shaking hands with the heck and not clamping it. sweet buy, good price.

Best Capo on the Planet!!

By MKSouder

from Fresno, CA

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

The first time I saw a Shubb, I thought "That looks like it won't do a very good job". Boy, was I wrong!! It held the strings evenly and without putting a lot of pressure on the neck of my Taylor. After reluctantly returning it to my friend, I went out the next day and purchased myself three (one for each guitar). I love them so much I give them to my students! It does such a great job, and I feel better knowing some big spring is trying to dent the neck of my guitar. I recommend them to everyone who doesn't have one.

My favorite Capo

By justin2112

from Columbus, OH

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

This is a no nonsense capo perfect for people who don't feel the need to have the most impressive and flashy accessories on the block. I bought this capo to replace one of those cheap nylon corded ones after it stretched to the point of being useless below the 11th fret. This capo is solid, due to its design it will never wear out or screw up the finish on your guitar neck.

Thin, Sleek, Invisible.

By Jorge

from mongomery, il

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

I ordered this capo because my old one was worn. Just about the best buy when it comes to capos. It has adjustable pressure so you dont have to worry about it not fitting your acoustic or electric neck. It uses a rubber piece to press on your fret board and a second rubber piece to hold it in place. Great product. I would give it six stars.

Five years later!

By Finch Williams

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

I have used this baby for five years now, and all the time! (daily) the shubb has never let me down. My fellow players love it too!! they are always trying to sneak it in their cases, when it's time to go! It is a must have tool if you play, or are thinking of playing with a capo. Buy it you'll be glad you did.

Love this capo!

By Melissa

from Winchester, VA

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

I've used many different capos, and this is by far my favourite! I rarely if ever use standard tuning, and generally play in double drop D and D modal tuning, and I'm always using a capo. My last capo was a kyser, and while it served it's purpose nicely, I will never go back to it after using a shubb capo. Other capos seem to pinch the strings while this capo only puts the necessary amount of pressure on the strings, so once the capos on and adjusted you hardly need to do much retuning when changing capo position, which is excellent! I play a Martin OM with a modified low oval neck, and the capo molds beautifully to the shape and works brilliantly in all positions on the neck. No intonation is sacrificed.

I love this capo! It's easy to use and it's so small that it doesn't get in the way when you play, as some of the larger ones can. Great buy!

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

This is the best capo ever! The first one I bought was over 15 years ago. The only reason I am buying the second is due to my son losing the first one.

Superior Capo

By Gene Aldridge

from Memphis Tenn.

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

I am agree with Melissa. I used Kyser capos for 30 years. I had seen professional guitarist using the Schubb capo quite a bit, so I decided I would try one. It is the best capo I have ever had, and it is accurate and plays true. I just wish you could clap it on the end of the guitar.

The Best Capo, Now Even Better

By Jay Gould _

from Hidden Valley Lake, CA

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

I have used Shubb capos for years and have found them to be the best out there. They release and re-set easily for quick changes between songs, and sometimes even within a song. And the rubber seems to never wear out or get permanently notched string grooves. The two changes made in this new model make them even better. The roller locking mechanism makes locking easier with less of a "snap" sound that can sometimes be distracting or picked up accidentally when the guitar is amped. And with the tip of the release handle now bent downward some, it is much easier grab with a finger to release. I have 6 of the older style now, and think I'll replace them all.

Best Capo - Period

By Christopher Davis

from Central Connecticut

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

Purchased the Shubb Original-C after years of using spring-loaded Dunlop-type capos. I'll never go back. Easy to set the tension so as not to be too tight. It won't make your tuning go sharp like the Dunlop-type capos can if you have larger frets. Awesome product!

Works Great

By ron rossi

from Lower Bucks, PA

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

Just got a C1 capo to replace a inexpensive closepin style capo i had for about a year. Looks like the spring tension started to become uneven and resulted in muted low e or high e strings. The Shubb seems to apply even pressure all the way across the neck. I also like the way the tension can be adjusted and that it's small profile doesn't get in the way. Works great.

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

I have several Acoustic guitars. When I purchased the Martin DCPA5, the Kyser and Dunlop capos didn't do the job. The Martin setup with the higher action made those capos hard to work with. Always tuning while on stage. I saw this product while doing some research, and at the price, I thought maybe give it a try. Man, this is one fine capo!!!!! I no longer have to re-tune and when not in use, it will clamp behind the nut. I adjusted the tension just enough to not have a string buzz on the low E string when played open.

          from Seattle, WA

Comments about Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo:

I ordered this Capo for my daughter sight unseen based on the reviews. She loves it. It is easy to use, no buzzing and it goes on and off well It is not big like many of the clip on Capos. It preforms very well. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a quality Capo at a good price.
