I have had these heads for a while on some not so good drums. I have these heads tuned perfectly and they sound amazing. I have one on top and bottom, and they do exactly what they're so supposed to. I don't get the unnecessary overtone. These heads are really great at muffling themselves and still holding up to the great remo quality sound you would expect. I highly recommend these heads to anyone looking for a good all around rock sound and very minimal overtone. Good job remo.

Been playing for 30 years. Not a thick stick power hitter be any stretch. I purchased 8 of the Pinstripe Ebony heads. Within the first week 2 of them had split the top layer. Musicians Friend was kind enough to replace those, and then two more within a month of me installing the heads. After having the four replacement heads sent, I started to feel sorry for Musicians Friend, and just sucked up the fact that I purchased the worst quality drum heads that I have ever used, and I've used A LOT. Currently there are four heads that the top layer has split on that I did not request replacements for. If you're keeping count that is 8 split heads out of 8 that I purchased. All within two months of installing them. I'll be going back to Evans to buy yet another 8 heads for my kit. It's not the money that makes me mad, it's that I purchased 8 heads, and 8 heads split the top layer...There are no stick strike divets in the heads, so they are not being pounded upon. That is a 100% failure rate. Not even Yugos were that bad.

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:

These are my go-to heads for hardcore/metal. I love the attack you get out of them as well as the slightly diminished sustain. I only rated them 4* because I have not tried all other heads, there may be better out there but I've never felt the need to look.

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:

Been playing drums for 25+ years, Christian contemporary. The quality of these heads have gone to the pits! Split after limited use in the first ply. Belive it or not I have the first set of these heads I bought 15years ago, just bought new ones be they were old. Since then I've put 2 set of heads on my drums since then. Thought at first it was maybe just some bad material but they just suck now. Good sound but quality sucks!

I've always loved the good ol' Remo pinstripe head, so when I found them in black, I jumped all over that. Not only do they sound great, they look Awsome.

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:

These heads have been on my kit for three years now, and are still in great quality. These heads last forever. The heads are thicker than I expected them to be, but it just makes these better. The only negative to these (if you even care) is that the ebony will get on your sticks after playing them frequently and will be seen all over your kit. That I don't even care about because these are one of the best heads ever.
