The Deering Artisan Goodtime Six-R acoustic-electric resonator banjo brings the ringing tone of a banjo to your guitar playing. Handcrafted in California by the renowned Deering Banjo Company, this unique 6-string instrument is tuned and played like a guitar while projecting the crisp, bright sound that only a banjo can produce. With its resonator back and slender 1.68" nut width neck, the Goodtime Six-R delivers fast, comfortable playability ideal for guitarists looking to expand their tonal palette.

Project Your Sound With a Resonator Back

Designed for optimal sound projection, the Artisan Goodtime Six-R features a resonator back to give your playing the full, ringing tone banjos are loved for. The resonator works together with the frosted head to send your notes out powerfully, with the twangy banjo edge. You'll appreciate how well the Goodtime Six-R cuts through the mix.

Experience Effortless Playability

The Goodtime Six-R features a slim, fast maple neck with a slender 1.68" nut width that facilitates comfortable, low-effort playing, even during long practice sessions or gigs. The smooth satin finish allows your hand to glide easily up and down the neck. Combined with its 16" fingerboard radius, this banjo guitar feels familiar and accessible to any guitarist.

Jam Out Guitar Licks With Banjo Resonance

The Goodtime Six-R gives you a guitar-like playing experience with the unmistakable brightness of banjo tonality. Its six strings are tuned and fingered identically to a guitar so you can play all your favorite riffs, scales and chords. The resonator back amplifies and projects each note with banjo's crisp articulation and cutting midrange. From funky rhythms to sweet melodies, your guitar playing gains a whole new acoustic dimension. The slim mahogany neck has a 1.68" nut width for fast, comfortable fingering up and down the Pau ferro fingerboard. Hear your signature guitar style sing with banjo resonance.

collapse expand iconWarranty

Deering banjos with the lifetime warranty are only available through authorized Deering Dealers.

IF YOU BUY A "NEW" DEERING BANJO FROM A NON-AUTHORIZED DEALER, YOU HAVE PURCHASED A USED BANJO AND HAVE NO WARRANTY. When we send a Deering banjo to an authorized dealer, only that dealer or another authorized dealer can sell that banjo as new. If an authorized dealer sells a new Deering banjo to a non-authorized dealer, the non authorized dealer becomes the first owner and he becomes the bearer of the lifetime warranty; not a new dealer by transfer. When the unauthorized dealer sells that banjo to the consumer, even if it was never played or even touched, it is a used instrument and no longer carries the lifetime warranty. This is necessary so that we know how the banjo has been cared for between the time we ship it and the time that our customers buy it. We have no way of knowing how non-authorized dealers care for their instruments because we do not communicate with them. This also honors and protects the strong relationship between Deering and its treasured network of hard working Deering dealers. For your protection against theft and to ensure immediate proof of ownership, four digits of the serial number are visible on the back of the peghead on each banjo. The full serial number is inside the resonator. When you purchase a Deering banjo and send in the warranty card you will receive a Gold Credit card style ownership/warranty card. This gold card is embossed with your name and the serial number of your new banjo for easy identification. Take your Gold Card with you to festivals or when traveling so that if your banjo is ever stolen you can easily prove it's yours.
