On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages.
Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website.
The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands:

I LOVE THIS AMP!! The tone is pure Ampeg, and it is certainly easy enough to move around. I would consider this the ultimate low volume amp. I have tried it in my classic rock band, and it certainly will not hold up against loud electric guitarists and a drummer who is pounding away. However, if you are in an acoustic based band, the amp shines. Moreover, if you are practicing at home, this is all the amp you need. It also has a great look, and Ampeg was quick to replace the cabinet when the tolex started peeling off. I buy and sell equipment constantly, but I will not sell this one. I had even toyed with the idea of getting a second one so that I could bring it out as a gig rig.
I own this stack and I must say that it is my "go to" setup for recording (mic'd with an EV RE-20 and direct out to the console with both channels going through a Presonus BlueTube) and practice. The limiter acts a bit weird someimtes but will definitely save your cabinet if you get too agggressive with it or play a 5 or 6 string bass. Now here's the best part: I blew an output tube in my SVT-CL head and had a gig coming up so I hooked the Micro-VR up to my 610HLF cabinet and wouldn't you know... it sounded AWESOME!!! This amp really saved the day and almost sounded just like my SVT-CL.
I reviewed this in August 2010 when I wanted one but was not ready to buy. I bought this Ampeg Micro VR stack this weekend and can't seem to stop playing it. Any settings that I use sounds great and is all Ampeg. I cannot emphasize the pure Ampeg tone enough. It is exactly what I wanted. I got this from the GC in Raleigh. I have to brag on Patrick and Franco. They were most helpful and went way out of their way to be of service (and they were very busy that day). The down side to this unit is the tolex on the cabinet tends to peel off, but some wood glue fixed it quickly. Again the sound is awesome but in larger venues you will have to XLR to the PA, but I dont consider that a downside as we run it all through the PA anyway. Other than what I've mentioned I believe you will love this set-up if the Ampeg sound is what you like. One final thought: this is a pleasure to carry around...sooo light!
