The Ernie Ball 2831 Power Slinky Round Wound Bass Strings, designed to bring maximum low end to your playing. Ernie Ball strings have been the choice of rock musicians for over 50 years, and their Power Slinky bass strings are a top choice for bassists seeking fat tone and reliable performance. Made in the USA using nickel-plated steel wrapped tightly around a tin-plated steel core, these strings produce a balanced and punchy sound with clear articulation. The Power Slinky set comes in gauges of .055", .075", .090" and .110".

Core and Wrap Combination Built for Power

The Power Slinky bass strings feature nickel-plated steel windings wrapped around a tin-plated hexagonal steel core, a combination engineered specifically for a powerful, punchy tone. The nickel plating on the steel wrap provides a balanced and articulate sound with a slight top end sizzle, allowing the fundamental tone and overtones of the tin-plated core to shine through. This unique core and wrap combination produces fat, round lows, clear mids, and an overall tone tailored for rock, metal, and other genres where a dominant low end is key.

Legendary Quality and Playability

Ernie Ball is the pioneer of rock guitar strings, and their bass strings are held to the same high standards of quality and performance. String after string, set after set, Ernie Ball strings are precision-made using the freshest raw materials and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes. The result is a product with unparalleled consistency and playability right out of the pack. The Power Slinky set features Ernie Ball's signature round-wound design, which helps reduce finger noise and allows for fast, articulate playing.

A Top Choice of Top Artists

The list of artists who choose Ernie Ball strings reads like a who's who of rock and roll. Legends like Steve Harris, Duff McKagan, and Matt Freeman as well as today's top bassists rely on Ernie Ball strings for their tone and performance. Best Bass String money can buy

I used to use DR-Hi Beams. Loved them to death but they broke often and felt like spagetti when I dropped the tuning. The Power Slinky is a diffrent breed. I can beat the ever loving snot out of them and they wont break, I tuned them down to A and they felt great. They have a fat, rich tone and superb clarity. I would recomend Ernie Ball to everyone.

I bought this set to de tune E to D, I have read good reviews about this set doing exactly this. Everything would be ok, but the volume of the last string is lower than others (even before the detuning). I tried to work the pickups but it didn't help. Now I don't know if it's just my set, or all of the work the same. I use MM HH4, Daddario EXL60 before the switch sets didn't have this problem.
