DW's legendary 5000 Series Double Pedal gives drummers the speed, power and customization to achieve their full potential. The 5002AD4 model features DW's innovative Accelerator Drive system which creates an indirect relationship between the sprocket and footboard for blistering velocity and pinpoint sensitivity.

Accelerator Drive System Fuels Unparalleled Speed

The 5002AD4's Accelerator Drive sprocket utilizes an eccentric motion to shorten the pedal's stroke length, enabling drummers to build momentum and achieve speeds previously unimaginable. The sprocket's dual-chain design also provides a perfectly balanced feel for seamless transitions between single and double strokes.

Tri-Pivot Toe Clamp Offers Ultimate Comfort

DW's patented Tri-Pivot Toe Clamp utilizes three pivot points to keep the foot securely in place while allowing the ankle to move freely. Its rubberized clamp provides non-slip traction and all-day comfort for drummers of all styles.

Components Built to Last a Lifetime

From the Delta II ball bearing hinge to the aluminum hex shafts, pedal plates and linkages, the 5002AD4 is constructed from premium materials chosen for their durability and performance. Its dual side adjusting hoop clamp, 101 two-way beater and built-in spurs provide further customization to suit any player's preferences.

Choose Between Two High-Performance Drive Systems

In addition to the Accelerator Drive, the 5002AD4 is also available with DW's Turbo Drive system which maintains a direct relationship between the sprocket and footboard for a solid, powerful feel. Either choice provides a pedal that will stand up to the most intense playing styles for years to come.

My Baby!

I bought this pedal long ago looking for an upgrade from my Sound Percussion double kick, and fell-in-LOOOVE!Previous to purchasing these, I heard a lot about them, so I thought I'd give'em a go. They looked like heavy duty pedals on sight. Had some resistance, but once I figured out how to adjust the spring tension they came alive. Responded to my feet well; which is what I need in a drum pedal since I have cerebral palsy. It also came with counter-weights, toe guards, magnets(don't know what for),and hex keys. My only problem is the velcro on the bottom of the pedals; It's annoying. I have to fight with them just to remove them, or adjust them to the bass drum. I understand DW's logic, but that was just a stupid idea. Other than that, love them. Highly recommend them.

Biggest disappointment

As a long time drum player, and playing with different styles, this is probably the most disappointing drum pedal I have ever used. You cannot get a precise adjustment with how badly designed the pedal is, and how complicated the entire mechanism is. You can play clean sometimes, but really with how bad the way this thing works, it is a waste. Your screws can come loose way too easily, to the point where it is unbearable to stop and adjust over and over. The drive shaft literally slips off, the pedal beaters screw themselves loose from the sockets. From a company as great as DW, this is a huge and absolute disappointment. If you are not going to play that much metal, or any styles with fast bass fills, I guess I could recommend it, but with how bad the build quality and design is, I still wouldn't risk it. So I would recommend a Tama Iron Cobra or a Pearl, because you can get those for cheaper and have less problems with build quality and design.

I've played these pedals for over 20 years and just bought another set for my electronic kit. They are the best in the business for a reason.

It does the job, but I agree with another commenter that it really makes you work for it. My legs are exhausted after practice, and I am not using double pedal the entire time. I am planning to trade for a Speed Cobra or Falcon.

These are the best pedals I have ever used. I tried the 9000's, but like others, landed on these. I really wanted the 9's, but these were just right for me. My only complaint is, the slave pedal moves all over the place. They rubber pad on the bottom just isn't cutting it. I put long strips of velcro on the bottom and that pretty much fixed it.

I have been using DW hardware including the 5000 double pedals for 25 + years. This pedal is multi adjustable, smooth, powerful and has been bullet proof gig after gig. Sad to see this current generation is no longer made in the USA, but after using this new one for a week or so it actually seems improved with the new features ( dual spring rocker, tri pivot toe clamp and no Velcro on the base just a good rubber base). Hopefully the durability is there for another 10 years + before needing to be replaced.

  • Very aggravating pedal to play with

This pedal has a very constricted sweet spot, meaning that there are only a few temples that it really feels good at. I have no problem with my foot technique, but something with this new accelerator cam design literally robs my foot of control and takes over a certain tempos. The turbo drive is a much better one to go for, unless you're wanting something smooth for styles like country that you can always expect you'll be playing.
