Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

It is the perfect size for me. I had bought a full size used (pawn shop) a couple of months in the past, but multiple shoulder surgeries and arthritis hampered me from holding the guitar correctly. The APXT2 is just right! I know I will never play professionally, but now at least I can plunk around for my own pleasure without hurting other than my own ears. Yamaha makes this old man happy.

Got this for my 7 year old son and it's the perfect size. Having the onboard tuner is great. Plays really nice for an under $200 guitar.

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

I bought this gem for my 8 year old son who's been trying to learn on a regular size guitar. It fits him perfectly. However, this little beauty is so much fun to play, I keep threatening to take it for myself. The sound is good. It's not as big a sound as a full sized guitar capoed at the 5th fret, but it will still surprise you. This is not a toy! It's a 3/4 guitar. A high quality 3/4 sized guitar. If you play guitar, you need one of these little beauties.

It has a nice, full sound. Once it is broken in, it holds tuning very well. It is easy to travel with and to transport. Overall a very good instrument.

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

As a small woman with short arms, full size acoustic guitars are difficult and uncomfortable to play. I've been researching smaller/thinner acoustic/electric guitars for quite a while, and was aware of this guitar but hesitant to purchase it without actually seeing and playing one. I finally got my chance and completely fell in love at first sight. It is small but the sound is anything but... I don't notice any loss of tone and it is quite simply the most comfortable, easiest to play acoustic I have ever used. Plugged in, it is incredible. I just absolutely love this little guitar. The neck is very comfortable and smooth as silk. Frets were not rough at all. Great action right out of the box. It doesn't have a fancy equalizer but I'll let my amp handle that. It does have an onboard tuner, volume, and tone control. It's so light and comfortable. I can't believe after all these years of suffering through with full size dreadnought's, I finally found my dream acoustic. It is every bit as comfortable as my electrics' and has a ton of personality. Very warm tones. Bright highs. I can't say enough good things about this guitar. If you are looking for a smaller guitar that packs a big wallop of sound, please consider the APXT2. From one short armed person to another...you will love this guitar. Thanks Yamaha!!!

great guitar for children to learn on

                  By Anthony

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

I have been teaching guitar to young children (6-12 years old) for the past 15 years. Many times my students have felt frustrated with the physical demands of the guitar that was bought for them to learn on. Finally, I have found the best guitar for these children to learn on and it is the Yamaha APXT2 3/4 size guitar! I recently purchased 4 of these guitars for my guitar ensemble. The children are all in 3rd grade and these guitars are the perfects size for them to learn on. Also, having a built in tuner allows me to tune the guitars quickly and with no need to go looking for a tuner in my classroom. I am now buying my 5th APXT2 for my 10 year old daughter and plan on placing another order for my new guitar ensemble students this coming fall. If you are in need for a beginner's model, look no further!

                  Cost to Quality

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

The low cost for this 3/4 size guitar by far aces out others in this class. The pickup sound surprised me for this beginner guitar, it sounded good. It even has a tuner. We first tried the Mitchell 3/4 but it sounded like a toy. This still has a beginner guitar sound but it doesn't sound like a toy. For the money it really is worth the cost if you must have a 3/4 size like I needed for my daughter to learn on. Style/color purchased was natural.

                  Yamaha never stops amazing me

                  By Chris Capozzoli

Comments about Yamaha APXT2 3/4 Thinline Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

For lower end acoustic guitars and basses Yamaha has quality products. For a 3/4 scale guitar this is a value and half the price of other brands. Very playable, the pickup and tuner work well allowing you to tune 1/2 step lower. Action was ok out of box, but due to my playing style and my kid starting to play, I'll bring it down a bit. The sound is warm. Naturally this guitar will produce more midrange tone than a full range guitar. But the pickup going direct for recording/live is nice since you can adjust the tone with it, along with the EQ on a mixing board and still get enough bass for live performances. With any guitar and especially 3/4 guitars you have to be careful when pressing the strings down that you are "fretting" properly. For travel this guitar is perfect. Intonation was fine out of the box. The soft shell case is ok but be careful transporting since is not a hard shell case.
