Overview

The Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 is an isolated power supply for powering guitar pedal effects and accessories. It's the ultimate compact solution for smaller pedal boards, rack shelves, or even as an additional power supply for larger boards. With five isolated, filtered and regulated output sections, ISO-5 keeps even the most sensitive vintage and boutique analog pedals dead quiet.

Pedal Power ISO-5 includes a high-current output which will properly power modern digital power-hungry effects like those from Eventide, Line 6, and TC Electronic. The power supply also has a dedicated 18V output for those guitar pedals that need the higher voltage for extra headroom.

Designed to meet the needs of professional users, Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 will provide clean, consistent power, even with the poor AC line conditions often found on stage. Its completely isolated output sections eliminate ground loops, hum, and unwanted interactions between effects, resulting in lower noise and noticeably improved tone.

I got tired of using several wall warts on my guitar effects, so I decided to get a power supply for my effects. I went on-line shopping and saw this model and read the description. I said to myself, this is it. If you own an cheap or expensive guitar, vintage tube amp, and/or effects, don't compromise. Buy this so that your sound comes thru sounding better. Many guitar players complain their guitar/effects/amp sounds terrible. Why? Because they don't use or invest on clean power. Buy this and you will love to play again and again.

I too attempted to replace a One Spot daisy chain configuration for a pedal board of about 30 pedals with the Voodoo Lab ISO 5 power supply. Contrary to other users' experience, what I found was that the device simply would not power all of my pedals, and when I broke it down into 4 different chains of fewer pedals per chain, the sound quality was terrible. I didn't notice that it was quieter or desirable whatsoever, I noticed that it sounded atrocious. I am returning the device to GC but I might possibly buy a bigger model if it will work to power the pedals that I have. My One Spot may be loud but I can turn down my pedals and manage the output that way. I was seriously disappointed with the ISO 5.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

What a difference this power supply does! I used to have the One Spot in daisy chain, and that high frequency noise was really annoying. I confess I didn't think this power supply would make a lot of difference in my sound, but after looking at the reviews, I thought it was worth a try.
Once a got it and plugged my pedals in... booom... clean sound! I couldn't believe! It really does what it's supposed to do, without adding those annoying high end frequencies in your chain. Totally worth it!

If you need power, you need this

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

The ISO 5 will give you dead quiet power and is small enough to live on your pedalboard rather than underneath if needed. I had filled up my power train power supply and was forced to daisey chain a few pedals together but no matter which ones I chained together, I had noise. Enter the ISO 5 and the noise problem was solved. Dead quiet power with ports to spare. Since I run practically all of my cords on the underside of my PedalTrain it was easier for me to put the ISO 5 on the top and since it's not much bigger than a Boss pedal, it fit just fine. If you need more power, get one.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

I bought this because it was built to go with the Pedal Train Jr and had good reviews. I watched the installation video on the the Pedal Train site and simply followed directions. Could not have been easier. Very solid. Powers my two boss 9v as well as my TC Helicon Voice :Live Play (12v) Quiet.

          3 Star Reviewer Is Wrong.....

          By Jane Smith

          from N/A

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

In response to Dissapointed's review: Learn to read and find a new tech. The two pedals you listed are NOT compatable with this unit. They both require AC not DC power. This unit clearly states it is a DC power supply. I would suggest trying VL's Pedal Power AC unit. To knock this unit down to 3 stars because of operator error is unfair. 5 stars all the way.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

mistake not to put the coolest feature from the 2 on this version. the sag power for a wah is much cooler than accommodating line 6 pedals. wish it were really geared to small pedal boards with a couple boss fx and a wah

          pedal board power supply

          By Ernest Fimbrez

          from sparks nv

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

for some reason my aca vintage boss 1983 chorus can only function on the last output, but it functions. other wise this unit works as advertised. I would consider this product a good investment for anyone with a minimal pedalboard setup,(like mine). it can take you to the level of fulltime player in which case you may need to upgrade to vd lab power plus 2.(to power more effects)

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

I've been working on my tone for years now, I've got just how I like it and all I needed was clean and quiet power (maybe its just me but it seems too have given me a stronger signal) and this thing really came through. I have nothing bad to say about this product.

          Didn't Work So Well

          By Disappointed

          from Clovis, CA

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ISO-5 Power Supply:

I love the concept of a multi power source like this but some pedals just are not compatible and don't work. I specifically had a problem with my Digitech Jam Man and the BBE Acousticmax. Although the power rating on the pedals were exactly what the ISO-5 was suppose power it didn't work. I had a Tech check it out and he said they are just not compatible. I think it's a great get if the right pedals are used.
