Overview

The deep color and rich grain of a mahogany top give the T5z Classic a vintage, earthy character. Distinctive T5z features include a more compact body than the original T5, a 12" fretboard radius, and jumbo frets, which add up to a fast, fluid playing experience that makes string bends fun. Like the T5, the T5z is equipped with a three-pickup configuration of an acoustic body sensor, a concealed neck humbucker, and a visible bridge humbucker, plus five-way switching and onboard tone controls, giving players an incredibly versatile electric/acoustic guitar. Appointments include Small Diamond inlays and nickel hardware, an unbound body and satin classic mahogany finish. The guitar ships in a T5z gig bag.

Comments about Taylor T5z Classic Acoustic Electric Guitar:

The guitar looks beautiful. It's a lot of fun to play and each of the 5 positions (pickup settings) yield a great sound. It's like having a few guitars in one.
The neck gets away from me a little when I'm standing and playing but I have a feeling I can correct this with the right strap.
When plugged into an acoustic amp it really does sound rich. With the right setting it sounds like an acoustic. On other pickup settings it sounds like a big body electric or a small solid body
      Amazing design.
A favorite in my collection already.

Comments about Taylor T5z Classic Acoustic Electric Guitar:

I own a number of (costly) guitars, both acoustic and electric, including three high-end Martins and several Fender. This guitar is simply a joy to play and the sound through a decent amp is fantastic. I have fairly small hands for a man, and this size neck is just great.

Comments about Taylor T5z Classic Acoustic Electric Guitar:

We all are searching for the perfect guitar. And probably searching for the definition of the perfect guitar. This is the most perfect guitar I have ever played. Seems I say that and then a year or two later I find the even more perfect guitar. I understand that needs change and all. I owned a T5 Classic before this and found it to be too big and I wasn't really sold on the sound. I found the many optional sound configurations to be hard to dial in to a sound I liked. I can't understand why the T5z Classic and the T5 would be so different but they are worlds apart. By all accounts of the specifications they should be pretty much the same (size excluded). This guitar is so comfortable for me and the sound couldn't be better. It feels so much better also. Anyway, it is the perfect guitar for me now and I hope for a long time to come.
