Speaker Covers

Speakers and PA systems may be built tough, but there's always room for a little extra protection. That goes double if you're going to be storing them for a long time, or if you need to have them outdoors when the weather might not be so great. Good speaker covers will keep out the dust and rain, so your cabinets stay in like-new condition even when the environment is hard on them. Most of the covers you'll find here are custom-fitted for specific speakers, so finding the right ones for your setup is as simple as looking for your speaker model. It also allows the designers to include handy features like handle cutouts for carrying, so you can cover your speakers and still transport them easily. A speaker cover can be as straightforward or as elaborate as you like. For instance, the Electro-Voice covers for ELX112, ELX 115 or ELX 118 speakers are as no-nonsense as they come: straight-sided drop-over covers that make short work of protecting the speakers from scuffs and the elements. Looking for something with a few more bells and whistles? Check out speaker covers like the QSC KW122 Cover with its built-in storage compartment, or the JBL JRX218S Cover, which has a front panel that you can unzip and peel back to use the speaker to full effect without having to take the cover off altogether. You can even find covers in this section that go beyond your PA speakers alone. Check out the Fishman Loudbox Mini Amp Cover, for example. This cover fits the Loudbox Mini combo amp like a glove - no wonder it's one of the top sellers in the lineup. There's also the Mackie ProFX16 cover, another top seller which protects the mixer from dust, moisture and the board's greatest enemy: spills. A rear cable access flap makes it a cinch to keep the mixer connected and working even while it's covered up. Speaker covers may not seem like anything to write home about, but they're an important part of your gear collection if you want to make sure your cabinets and accessories stay in great shape. Choose the covers that match your speakers, going for basic ones or adding pockets to hold your cables - the choices are yours to make. When all is said and done, your speakers will thank you for it by looking and sounding their best for years to come.
