About Me Experienced

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

I'd like to preface by saying I don't have a false sense of loyalty to any one cymbal manufacturer. I have always chosen cymbals one at a time purely by what it does for my ears. My array consists of Zildjian, Sabian and Paiste. I have always liked AND wanted a ride that delivers very well enunciated sticking without a lot of wash. I FOUND IT. Sticking that cuts and the wash remains subdued. It never gets in it's own way ! It is NOT super dry, it's perfect with a great sounding bell. The only other ride I've ever found that offers the same is it's sister : Also a 21" the AAX Raw Bell Dry. These two are "almost" exactly the same. BEAUTIFUL.

    Musical, Magical...

    By GroundZero-V8MdJ

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

It seems to me that most ride cymbals-even high end models-have pretty wimpy stick definition in relation to the amount of wash they produce. This cymbal seems to be designed to produce the opposite effect. And This is exactly what I was looking for in a versatile ride cymbal.Strike it and it produces clear and tight stick articulation, which can really be HEARD over the top of a low, cool, "vintage" sounding wash. A shoulder strike across the bow produces a beautiful accent, which I find an awesome way to add character to any groove. The unlathed bell is strong and clear, making bell accents sound just the way they should.Musical, Magical, maybe a little on the quiet side (the only reason I did not give it a 5.0 rating for "Features")But honestly, if you play this ride with the right nuances, the cymbal will play WITH you.

    The best ride ever !!!

    By Ilia

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

Hi! I own this cymbal. It is a real marvel. I've heard particularly this main sound of body and bell in my mind and this cymbal has it. It has a strong cutting bell, quiet ping sound and full dark crashing sound. For large clubs and different open-airs I prefer using something from AA, AAX or Zil's Avedis for more cut, but in the studio only HH RBDR. I recommend this cymbal to everyone who want to get the most versatile ride cymbal from Sabian. It is a very beautiful ride.

    Amazing.

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

I bought this cymbal yesterday. I just have to say that this ride is the cleanest ride I have ever heard, and the raw bell just adds more clarity to the cymbal. If you choose any other cymbal, you better be ready to be disappointed.

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

My Church has this ride cymbal, and let me say, it is one of the most amazing rides I have EVER heard in my drumming hobby, let alone life.I must say, I am not one for crashing this though, I love the bell sound though, it actually sounds like an actual bell as in zilbel or icebell. That is if you hit it with the tip of your stick! Overall it is a 7 stars out of 5! mhm thats how good it is!

    Beautiful

    By Markansas

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

Oh, this cymbal is a beautiful thing. Before buying it, I had narrowed it down to this or the Z Ping Ride. This is the one. The bell makes a very cutting and musical sound with no overtones. The rest of the cymbal has a great attack and it comes through the mix even when played lightly. All in all, this is the best ride cymbal I've ever played and now I own it.

    What a Ride!

    By James A. Harrelson

    from Osage City, KS

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

I am never satisfied with the sounds I get from my kits. I am always on the hunt for the 'perfect' individual sound, the exact combination of tunings that just come together for that 'total sound package.' I was especially difficult to please when it came to my ride cymbal. My old standby, an early 60's A, just never did cut it for me. When I discovered Sabians in the 90's it really opened my eyes. And then, in an inspired moment, I tried the HH Raw Bell Dry Ride. This is everything you ever wanted in an all-around ride cymbal--cut, ping, a perfect wash that gets out of the way, consistency and smooth decay. It has it all. It is the perfect compliment to a really dry jazz cymbal. And that bell--it could find a home at Notre Dame Cathedral! Play the cymbal heavy, you get everything you need. Play it light--it sounds like Tinker Bell dancing. I've given away a lot of drum equipment over the last 15-20 years to aspiring young students. You'll have to pry this one out of my cold dead hands! It is amazing!

    UNBELIEVABLE.........

    By Anonymous

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

Just got this thing and let me tell you, it sounds EXACTLY like the sound files on Sabian's site. Don't know what people are talking about saying you cannot crash this thing.......it is wonderful. I'm going to use it on a jazz gig. The volume of the ping is silvery and probably not meaty enough to cut thru grindcore guitars but it's bell sure is. Almost bought a K Hybrid........glad I didn't now.......amazing........oohh, I should mention for a heavier cymbal, it has AMAZING feel.....feels like a softer ride which for us groove drummers is a godsend. Well done, Sabian.

    expensive, but worth it!

Comments about Sabian HH Series Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

I sent an email to one of the best drummers out there, Flo Mounier, and I asked him what to get that meets my music style. He told me to et this one. Man was he right! This cymbal is awesome. Flo uses it for Grind metal, but I use it for stoner rock. Its very versatile! Great ping from the bell and great response from edge riding. BUY IT!
