Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Snare Side:

It is a high quality snare side head. Good thickness and snare response. I haven't noticed much of a difference from other snare heads I have used. Decided to go with a Renaissance only to match the Renaissance batter head.

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Snare Side:

I recently purchased a Tama SLP 13" steel snare. The drum came with stock Evans heads, and actually sounded good, for about a week. then turned to absolute mud. No thanks Evans!I purchased the Remo heads, already knowing I was in for a huge improvement. What I didn't expect, was the tones that came off the drum were heavenly. The resonant side had a little ring, but nothing compared to the Evans. Where the Evans became almost untunable and stretched out of shape so easily, the Remo's maintain tone and resonance. The attack side is wonderful. I don't remember when there was such response to pressure and technique. Excellent heads, have no need to go elsewhere.

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Snare Side:

I was browsing Musicians Friend drumhead selection and I was intrigued by the Renaissance description of this line of snare side drum heads.
I put it on my Pork Pie "Big Black" 6 1/2 x 14 brass shell drum and I was pleasantly surprised!

I have mainly used Remo Ambassador clear snare side resonant heads for 46 years & now I have another choice.

When I took this head out of the box, I was impressed with its' tan opaque color and onion-skin type appearance and texture. I installed it and immediately heard the difference, it has the similar classy quality of an Ambassador with a warmer sound comparable to a calf-skin snare side head but a lot more economical.

On the top I installed an Ambassador X coated, another Remo head I have not used and I also was pleasantly surprised.

I look forward to trying more of the Remo Renaissance line in the future.

        Good tone

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Snare Side:

I bought this head to replace my factory installed Remo head on my Yamaha snare. It is easy to tune and gives a nice sound. I have mine tuned a little lower than normal and I get a warm tone out of the snare, though there is still a nice crack. After upgrading to this head, I like the sound enough to stick to my current snare after originally planning to replace it.

        Excellent sound, quality, and value.

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Snare Side:

I bought this head for my 13" Tama steel piccolo. It is absolutely amazing! I crank both batter and snare-side heads pretty tight to get that tight, rapid, piccolo sound and hit very hard. I have an Aquarian High-Energy head on batter and it takes a beating but my snare-side head always ends up literally BLOWING UP! Because of its thickness and calf-skin durability, has held up for 5 months now, has excellent response, and is the perfect sound I need! I highly recommend it. I own a Tama Bubinga kit and started replacing all my clear Emperors with their Renaissance counterparts and the sound is AMAZING! I play many different styles of music and they fit everything! Only thing is that for brushes, because there is no coating, its very very hard to get a good sound...better than clear! But...not doesn't fit that coated head jazzy brush sound.
