Well, I busted my snare drum head a couple weeks ago, so I went to my local Guitar Center to buy a new one. I went into the drum room and asked the clerk what he recommended and he told me this was a great head, so I took his advice and bought it. I put it on my drum, hit it, and I was amazed. It sounded so much better than my old one, especially with the sound dot in the middle. It was much easier to roll on it too. Bottom line is, if you want a great snare drum batter head, and you like saving money at the same time, this is a great choice.

Great Head But Room For Imrovment

By

from Vicksburg, Mi

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

I Just Recently Purchased A Brand New Pearl Limited Edition Snare Drum, And The Head It Came With (UT I Believe) Was Slowly Starting To Break. I Put This Head On Tight (My Personal Snare Preference) And Started Playing Around With It. Here Is A List of Things To Keep In Mind When Purchasing This Head. Pros: 1. Dampens The Snare Drum (Depends on Preference) 2. The Reverse Dot In The Middle Helps Your Aim For Better Sound 3. The Reverse Dot In The Middle Controls Sound (Like It Was Supposed To) 4. Stops Any And All Snare Buzz/zing After Hitting The Snare Drum (I Had This Problem) 5. A Quick Snare Sound, More of A "CLAP" Cons: 1. Dampens The Snare Drum (Depends on Preference) 2. The Lightest Hit Will Leave A White Mark, Most Noticeable In The Reverse Dot Area 3. (It May Be My Snare Drum) Less Snare Sound, More Disengaged Snare Sound. All In All This Is A Great Snare Head! If You Want A Quick, More Dampened Sounding Snare Drum, This Is The Head For You! But Keep In Mind Your Style of Music For It May Not Satisfy Your Needs.

AWESOME HEAD!

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

I've tried the Coated Ambassador, Emperor X, and this one in the 3 years I've been playing and I've broken 2 Ambassadors, the Emperor X doesn't really give me the sound I want, but this one always delivers and it's super durable. Worth every penny!

goood

By

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

i had this on my ddrum 13x7 snare for maybe a year or two. at the beginning it was great. the coating was excellent and the crack on my snare was awesome and good for ghost notes. although once the coating is off, this head dies. makes my drum sound like a tin can. but very good controlled sound with the dot. going to try something a little thicker because this head honestly doesn't sound good when tuned low.

Great, great head.

By

from North Las Vegas, Nevada

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

Just an awesome head. No dents whatsoever after heavy hitting so it's obviously durable, and has a real nice pop to it. You might have to use some sort of a dampener to muffle the "ooooong" after some hits, but that's a small price to pay for such an affordable, good-quality head. A must-buy for drummers on a budget.

Clean Sound

By

from Van Nuys, CA

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

I put this head on my Pearl Soundcheck snare - the entry level drums - with an Ambassador as my resonant head, and now my snare sounds like a professional snare. I have little to no buzz when I hit my toms (I changed the stock batter heads to Pinstripe). The tone is a bit difficult to describe for me; it sounds a bit dark, I guess. There is little when you hit the snare, so it is a controlled sound, as advertised. The best place to strike this head is in the center; striking anywhere else wouldn't sound so great.

Get 'em.

By

from Kansas City, MO

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

So, yeah, I'm a beginner. Be that as it may, you don't have to be well-versed in music theory or anything overly technical to hear how great this head can make your snare sound with proper tuning. This head makes a nice loud crack with no sustain or excessive rattle. However, it's not excessively loud. Yes, I'm into metal and rock, but I'm not into being obnoxious. =p If you're looking for something really loud, get the Emperor X (also by Remo). You'll also get great bounce with this head, making rolls a breeze. I'd definitely consider this a must-buy, if you're into my music styles. Also, I'm still using my stock snare side heads! That's a testament to how great this head is!

This Head Speaks For Its Self

By

from Hebron, Indiana

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

This head is simply amazing. This heads speaks for itself, it has a controlled sound. There is a perfect ring to it so i recomend this head to rock drummers that like a powerful beefy head with a solid clean ring to it. also good with this head is a Evans 300 Hazy. With this combo youll have your mouth drop. Nice head dont waste your time with any other heads.... trust me youll be satisfied with this head

Excellent Sound

By

from Hammond, INdiana

Comments about Remo Controlled Sound Reverse Dot Coated Snare Head:

I got this head on my Ludwig Supraphonic 5.5" and it brings out the true sound. You get the warm tone without the ringing. I used to use a basic coated head, but I got tired of having to muffle it. Thinking about buying this item? Give it a shot.
