I change heads, dampening, cymbals, sticks beaters etc etc etc depending on the music and situation and these things are great for a lot of studio and live situations from dampening a bass drump to making a nice wet sounding floor these are fun. People seem to have forgotten about these with all the $50 bass drum heads but I still use them for all kinds of stuff from cocktail kits live to 10in deep snares in the studio. Best of all they are cheap and reuseable.
I currently own 1 set of these muff L rings for my high, mid and floor toms. It significantly reduces the ringing in the toms and I rather enjoy the sound that's produced. If you're looking for additional muffling, you can simply purchase an additional set of muff L's for each drum to install on the bottom of your drum head too and these rings are inexpensive so it's definitely an option that's available. If you're looking to make no noise whatsoever, you should probably just practice on your practice pad. Keep drumming!
I Bought This Today at my local guitar center and these sound great, the bass drum one is awesome too, its a great powerful thump perfect for any kind of music, mostly metal, i love it. 5 stars!
