BEST FOR THE MONEY

By Drumwreck

from Independence, MO

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

I have been playing since I was a kid and have tinkered with a heck of a lot of percussion gear. I bet I have owned 20 different thrones over the years including DW, R&S and Gibraltar. I had always hed the impression that Pork Pie thrones were more eye candy than real world quality. Several months back Guitar Center opened in my town. They had a pretty decent asoorment of thrones, but the more I looke at the hardware and quality the more I leaned towards Pork Pie. I finally bought this baby and I have to say that I know of nothing that touches it in the priced range. The seat covering has held up like a champ and is easy to keep clean. The base hardware is solid as a rock - No wobbly, pansy seat - No slipping clamps - No leg brace rivets getting loose. The chrome is heavy - No pitting - No chipping - No rust appearing in the joints. Comfot is a major A plus. When I think of all the saddle sores over the years from cheezy throne seats it just kills me that I haven't owned one of these in the past. This is one sweet throne for the money.

Great

By Vipera

from Tucson

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

I recently purchased this throne with my electric kit and it is fantastic. A little on the heavy side but hey would you rather have a flimsy $20 one? didn't think so. This throne is one of the most comfortable one I have ever used. The only thing that is lacking is air adjusting. The only few thrones that beat this only beat it because of two things, either they have backs, or they have air ride. Air ride in case you don't know is basically what many computer or office chairs have. To raise the seat you stand up and pull the leaver and the chair magically rises and to lower it you sit on it and pull the lever. I kind of think its for lazy people but meh. This thrones height is manually adjusted by turning the seat which will raise or lower it depending on the direction turned.*NOTE: The chairs height can be locked in place.

My butt loves it!

By Bryan

from Fort Collins, CO

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

I shopped online and read reviews for weeks before deciding to buy the Roc-n-soc Nitro. I went to Guitar Center to get it, then my wife told me to sit on at least three thrones that day before spending the money. Her recommendation changed everything. Although the Roc-n-Soc was comfy, it put a little pressure on the back of my thighs that I didn't like. The Pork Pie's thick, round design felt much better. I ordered this throne in the black sparkle and I love it. I have practiced up to 6 hours straight with my band and have never had a problem with butt or back pain. When I get up to refill my coffee or take a restroom break I often come back to see someone else just sitting on the throne to rest! The adjustability is great, although not instant like with the Roc-n-Soc Nitro, but the clamps and shaft threads are very sturdy. The legs and rubber feet are high quality as well, and I never feel like the throne is unstable. Money well spent!

The Very Best

By Chris Leach

from Diamond Bar, CA

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

I've been using my Pork Pie throne for 8 years. @ 6' 3" 230 lbs and a sufferer of chronic back pain, comfort and ergonomic support are very important to me. I've owned some excellent thrones over the years, but was never satisfied with any of them. I found the bouncing action of the gas charged thrones to be a distraction while playing. I found the pivotting action of the Roc-N-Soc motion throne equally distracting. Prior to buying the Pork Pie, I had been using only thrones with sculpted seats and back rests. This one is so much more comfortable than any I've tried before or since. I don't experience the back fatigue I used to encounter after long sessions while using other thrones. I find the references to the Pork Pie as a "heavy" throne to transport amusing. Try lugging around a throne with 4 double braced legs and a backrest, or worse, a Roc-N-Soc motion throne, then talk to me about "heavy". This is just a really comfortable, sturdy throne at an extremely reasonable price.

Sold After First Sit

By Brent Maynard

from Evansville, IN

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

This drum throne is amazing. After the first time I sat on it i knew i had to have it. It is super soft, plenty of foam in it. It is heavy and will last a long time. The only thing is that it doesn't get very short. I think it is the best throne in the world, or at least it is the best one I have every sat on.

Great Throne

By G-man

from LI, NY

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

What can I say, WOW....what a comfortable throne. On the way to being one of my favorites. The plush seat is very comfortable for those extended gigs, you know...club dates where you are playing 3-4 hours.I am by no means a portly cat, 5'-10"/195lbs (PP suggests that these thrones are for the larger drummer). The frame is exceptional! Sturdy and smooth to set up. The locking feature on the piano style seat post keeps it in place. As does the one under the seat. And the style'n designs are kool. I definitely recommend this throne. Way to go Pork Pie.

Great combination of softness and support

By Gary Walker

from North Carolina

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

I weigh 220 pounds and this throne supports me very well. I feel like it could support a drummer that weighs twice as much as I do very easily. The seat itself is very thick which gives it great softness. The foam inside the seat seems to be very dense though which gives it a lot of support as well. All of the hardware and metal parts are very heavy duty and should last for many years. I am very happy with the purchase.

Great throne - another great experience with Guitar Center customer support

By Jonathan R Leet

from Scituate, MA

Comments about Pork Pie Round Drum Throne:

I have been using the same throne for 20+ years and finally wore it it out at a recent gig. The GC customer support team made me an offer I couldn't refuse to replace it and I happily did so and received in time for a critical gig. I am shocked by how much more comfortable this throne is than the second most comfortable throne that I have tried. This is not the cheapest throne out there, but definitely a great value that holds its value over time (check out what used ones sell for on eBay).
