I bought the Sanpera II to replace the Model I that I originally got. Getting the extra banks of presets, two pedals and the ability to switch your effects on and off is worth the extra money spent. Definitely takes the Vypyr to a new level. Buy it!
I have had other midi controllers for various units in the past,a main one right now is the Behringer Fcb1010 for a g-major unit which is tricky to program, this one however is very easy to use from the start. The directions are clear and easy to follow. I haven't done any recalibrating and i'm not sure if i will but all the other features are easily accessible from this controller. It's built nice and seems rugged. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is that it causes the vypr head to freeze on a fairly regular basis. I knew about this issue ahead of time and am still not sure if this is an issue with the pedal or the head, it doesn't seem to cause the combo to freeze, but i haven't used it too often with it. The only other thing is it takes a special midi cable, which is provided, I wanna say it's around 10-pins or so. Not sure if that will be difficult to get a hold of if another is ever needed. Overall a must have for the vypr amp.
I'm new to using peddles, but this sanpera II is great, I like every thing about it. You can't go wrong with this peddle if you have a Peavey VYPYR series amp,30w or greater. The loop back is fabulous as are the two peddles. GET THIS ONE.
I got the Sanpera 2 footswitch mainly to give me the 400 "extra" presets and am I ever glad I did. What an incredible piece of equipment. I am truely impressed with how easy it is to change or preset any combination of amp, stompbox, rack effect and clean or distortion available. Many thanks to Peavey for saving me tons of money buying amps and stompboxes as this is the only one of either that I will need for a long time!
This is a basic nessecity if you happen to have a vypyr amplifier; this "remote control" is very nice to have. One other effect you get is the looper, the looper is nice for someone like me who makes his own songs. And with manual mode, you can switch certain effects on or off; one thing I've done is saved a possible effect that I might use with it and switched it off, then when the time comes I can turn it on. You can also give your presets funny names like "PHAT CAT" or "HUMBARKER".
if you have a vypyr, this pedal is very helpful while playing especially in a live setting. it's not awesome but it is still very good and i give it a 5 star. it would have been great if it was possible to create your own presets on the pedal or maybe have more options so that you could change effects on a preset while just using the pedal. but that isnt incredibly important. besides all that, the pedal is great, especially the wah pedal. ive been using it a ton and ive only had it for a few weeks. the looper is incredibly useful but you have to get used to using it so that the loops are well timed. volume pedal is very good as well. the built in tuner is weird but once you find out how hard to pluck the string for it to read right, it's great. the pedal is very easy to use and it is very strong as well. you definitly get what you pay for and it goes perfectly with the amp. its hard to explain everything on this but it is definitly something worth looking at to get if you have a vypyr
This thing is THE best accessory EVER! When I look at this I don't even bother wonderering why people spend two hundred dollars on a pedal with only ONE EFFECT! This footswitch controls EVERYTHING on the amp and more. You can access the onboard-looper, and this thing comes with over 400 other preset effects; and if you want you can take a certain part out of one effect and take a part out another effect and make your OWN, I know it's sort of confusing, but we'll just have to all get used to it. Plus this footswitch has two expressiong pedals, one for volume one for a wah pedal, then if you press hard on the toe for the volume, it becomes a tuner, a very ACCURATE tuner. Also if you like the sound of a certain patch of effects for the chorus part of a song, but then like a certain patch of effects for your guitar solos, you can save the patches and when it comes down to it you can hit a button and change to your solos.
This unit completes the entire vyper setup. Easy to use and understand. Dramatically increases channels for all genre of music. My only complaint is that you can't use it to do the initial setup. Once it is programmed; no worries.
The Snapera Footswitch is the perfect companion to the VYPYR amp line. I have the VYPYR 60 watt Tube Power amp that I purchased as a practice amp and combined with the footswitch it is now my go to amp. If your planning on getting these Peavy amps DEFINITELY get the Sanpera II footswitch. With both I am able to get any sound from thrash metal, SRV, 80's metal, blues, and just about any sound you can imagine. The 32 bit and 255 mhz sampling rate is the best out there so you get a very good analog reproduction ands the footswich makes for going from parameter to parameter a pure joy. Don't waste your time and money on trying to build the perfect pedal board. Peavy has truly outdone themselves with there VYPYR and Sanpera II amp and footswtich line.
Got this for my son for his birthday. Really adds to Vypyr amp capability. Easy to use tuner better than one that comes with amp. 412 presets programmed like, surf, super clean, backwards, and hundreds more. Can make and name your own and easily modify the presets and save. Wah-wah also does phase shift and other pedal does volume or you can switch left to right. Go on u-tube to see videos as instructions are too basic. If you get a Vypyr get this pedal. Don't even mess with the Sanpera I this is worth way more than twice the price of the Sanpera I.
