Goodtime Openback Banjo by Deering

Deering

collapse expand iconDescription

The Goodtime open-back 5-string banjo by Deering is crafted with snappy maple, a tonewood that elevates warm, old-time twang that banjos are known for. The open-back design of the Goodtime banjo enhances the maple’s clear and crisp voice and is perfect for Folk, Bluegrass, Country music styles and much more. Perfect for beginners or seasoned players, the Goodtime banjo is made right here in the USA and is available at a price that won’t break the bank.

Maple Tonewood Construct

The Goodtime Banjo features a rim, neck, fretboard and body, all crafted from violin-grade maple that delivers a snappy and crisp tone when strummed at forte and detailed depth when played at pianissimo. Maple is a common tonewood used for folk instruments because of its projection power and clean resounding quality.

D-Shaped Neck Provides Comfortable Playability

The Goodtime banjo has a D-shaped neck profile for effortless grip and barring. Its low action and thin neck are a welcome feeling for new players and greatly appreciated by seasoned pros. Finished with satin, this banjo feels extremely comfortable in the hands, reducing playing fatigue and enabling marathon studio or performance sessions.

High-Quality, Proprietary Hardware

The Goodtime banjo features a 14:1 geared tuning machine and a sealed back that prevents humidity and dirt from hindering its tuning stamina, providing fast, accurate and long-lasting tuning. A Smile Bridge, carved from maple and ebony and Quiet Metal tailpiece ensure the Goodtime banjo strings remain balanced and responsive, even during wild performances. A standard, 11” Frosted Top banjo head sealed with 16 brackets enhance a crisp and resonate connection to the maple for an unparalleled banjo sound.
