  • If your not craftsperson,Then this will be complicated.

As reviewed by victor wegner on 12/21/2010

When i bought this set, i was confident of building it.But while building it I was missing other items to build it and had problems playing it when it was completed. The neck snap off with a week or so and had to send it back. But when they sent me a new one,I had to go back to Guitar Center and get my money back. So,If your not a skilled luthier i would not recommend you this product.

  • Buyer beware

As reviewed by Tom Jordan on 3/22/2011

The first review is very right on. In order to make an instrument you need some space to work, a workbench or worktable, a set of clamps and some background knowledge so that you don't ruin the kit by doing something wrong. It seems like a great way to have a Martin guitar for hundreds of dollars less than the fully assembled item in the store. There is nothing to describe the frustration of paying over four hundred dollars for a kit, ruining it and then buying the same guitar after that for over a thousand. If you can't afford the guitar of your dreams wait till you can and enjoy the music you can make on the one you have now.

  • This kit is a must have.

As reviewed by Allan Simonson on 4/6/2011

I bought this kit,to build your own Martin acoustic guitar, after about 3 weeks of just taking my time and making sure that everything was put together perfect I now have a beautiful acoustic guitar that sounds and plays better than even my Gibson acoustic, at a fraction of the cost. Thank you Martin Guitar CO. Allan Simonson/ Seattle WA.
