I got this little amp a couple of days ago and I am amazed by the quality that Marshall put into this thing. This is my first Marshall and it has left a good impression. The ability to walk around the house, park, or city square and noodle on my guitar is priceless. Although it is a little pricey for an amp that is smaller than my hand, it is worth it because of the quality. The sound is so clear. The distortion (or Over Drive to be technical) has a very AC/DCish sound to it. In fact the first riff you would probably want to play in OD mode is the one from Back In Black. Overall, great product. What else would you expect from a Marshall?

This cute little half-stack is a fun little conversation piece to have sitting around, and in a desperate pinch, I guess you could use it as an amp. But the sound is tiny and thin and distorted at full volume (which doesn't sound very loud) even before you hit the overdrive. On overdrive, it has plenty of sustain and distortion and a surprising amount of volume, but it's still a tiny little speaker and sounds as such. I adore the looks and love to bring it out and show people, but it's not a good choice as a practice amp. It is convenient for travel, and maybe for using headphones, and as long as you don't expect much in the way of sound, you should enjoy the novelty of owning a Marshall half-stack and be content with that.

This is a really nice, cheap amp for someone who just want's to mess around. It sounds good and it's small so it's really nice to just keep around the house.
I won a MS-2 ming by my wife. I confess that I was not expecting a good sound coming this toy and I was very surprised how is really good! Its very nice for training. The 4 star is just because the clean channel is not really clean, I am using only the dirty channel that is nice.
This unit is quite small, approx 5"x5". Its almost toy-like. The tone isn't bad, but there's not much of it, as you would expect with a little battery powered unit like this. You can get a real amp (cheap, small) for $50-100 so if you want a real amp, look elsewhere. If you just want some little thing to play in certain situations, this may suffice. I only use it when watching TV with wife so it doesn't bother her much.
I bought this as my first amplifier to practice at home. It is literally small and compact which sounds very well; while working. Since it is small 1W amp, it blows up easily. Mine blown up in 5 days. I would recommend you to buy this only if you really aware of what you will encounter with. My opinion for you is to save 45 bucks more and buy a Line 6 Spider IV 15.
I bought this after i bought an Epiphone junior and i was prompted with a little amp that wasn't to bad but after a couple week the amp went out and i was very disappointed.
I love this amp. It's deffenetly small, but how can you not love something so cute! This thing is all bark ALL bite! It is crazy loud on over drive (0verdose) and has a sick tone. The clean sound is pretty quiet so the volume needs to be cranked to hear it well, but the whole reason I got it was so I could make the neighbors cry while I walk around shredding sad upbeat 50's love songs! I recommend this to anybody. It's way better than my Micro Cube even though it has less features It still sounds alot better. What I didnt expect was how light it is! Dude whats radical is that this thing weighs as much as a water bottle thats half full... or half empty. I thought it didnt come with the battery since it was so light but under further inspection it was me who didnt come with a battery because I found it was already in there! It's an amazing invention for any noise addict. Give it a home.
I've had my MS-2 just over a month and it's pretty cool. The Good - Nice Loud 80's style distortion - Only uses a 9 volt Battery (included) - It's a Marshall The Bad - The Clean mode isn't so clean. Too quiet or Muddy. - Battery Compartment (The 9-volt battery slips off the contacts, design flaw. This can be fix however with a piece of cardboard) Over all. If it wasn't for the messed up "Clean" mode and the battery compartment flaw this little mini amp would be perfect.
I love this little amp i love the overdrive on this thing its amazing.but the clean is really disapointing i wish it was cleaner but oh well i still love it
I got this one because the fender mini I had was destroyed in a car wreck recently. It fails miserably at distortion when the gain is turned on. All it does is make it a little louder. Not distortion. Fail. Disappointed in Marshall just because of this. Fenders do a much better job at distortion, like old Jimi Hendrix at full volume.
I bough this amp a couple months ago so i didnt have to lug around my line 6. And though it doesnt have enough distorion for the heavier stuff i play, it has quite a bit considering its size. One of my friends had a mini amp that was quite a bit bigger than this, and this one still had more distortion. Plus this thing can take a beating, ive dropped it a couple times on concrete and stuff and it doesnt have a single scratch on it. So if your looking for a mini amp with a great amount of distorion, and is durable, this is definately the amp you want.
