MEINL

collapse expand iconDescription

MEINL HCS Practice Cymbals deliver diminished volume without impacting tone. Made from the same brass alloy used for the standard HCS line, the Practice Cymbals utilize a savvy hole pattern to reduce weight, vibration and volume. You don’t need to resort to add-on rubber mutes, or choose volume reduction over sound quality by using cymbals made from inexpensive yet quiet alloys, such as stainless steel. The tone and feel of MEINL Practice Cymbals is much the same as traditional cymbals—just without the searing volume, ringing sustain and extreme attack. Obviously, less cymbal clanging is extremely beneficial for practicing at home without upsetting neighbors, pets, house mates and small children, but MEINL Practice Cymbals can also be gig savers. For example, if your drums are set up in a small venue surrounded by windows and concrete floors, the reduced cymbal sizzle makes for a much more enjoyable experience for the audience, as they won’t be pummeled by high-end crashes and washes. Even better, if you have a compact kit for smaller gigs, you can play the way you play without having to significantly adapt your cymbal technique to the listening environment. Your ears will appreciate a little less volume abuse, as well.
