Great Product

By Braulio Diaz

from Puerto Rico

Comments about LPA646 Aspire Conga Set with Double Stand:

This conga set is great! It is a lightweight and small set of congas (not that small though). I bought the natural ones and they have a really good shiny look to them. I have nothing to argue about this set of conga except maybe someone could not like their size. But overall great sound, if you want to get the best sound out of this congas you should buy the Remo Fyberskyn heads for both the quinto and the conga, my quinto is tuned like a conga, and my conga is tuned like a tumbadora and sounds great with those heads, I recommend to anyone buying these that if you do, please buy them with that certain set of heads. Also, the stand is really good, really sturdy and can hold a lot of weight, great for playing while standing up. A lot of people are saying that they're for beginner drummers but I guarantee you that it tuned well, you can make this conga set sound like any professional set of congas :)

Comments about LPA646 Aspire Conga Set with Double Stand:

I got my Aspire Conga Set a couple months ago, and it sounds great. It has never fallen over or slide down the stand. This conga set is good for beginners and Advanced. It has great tone, and beautiful sunburst finish. I've play them at sevral conserts and get to togethers. Iam so happy that I spent my money on somthing good. I've never had a better one

Great Quinto, Good Conga

By LP player

from Braselton, Ga

Comments about LPA646 Aspire Conga Set with Double Stand:

I wasn't going to buy this set; my eye was on another pair. Then I played them. For the price, I knew I couldn't do any better. The stand isn't the best, but I found it to be better than some of the other reviews stated. I played this set, then a set ranging at about $250 per drum, then the top of the line LP. There's clearly a difference, but the devil's in the details. The conga sounds a bit more muffled than the higher lines. The quinto, however, is amazing. I love the high end pop and the slaps on this thing come through crisp and clear. I picked up the tobacco fade option which matches my kit. They are gorgeous. I bought these in store at guitar center and got a great deal. Thanks to the Pleasant Hill Store in GA for such great service.

Good Beginner Set

By Harpmaster B

from Martinez, CA

Comments about LPA646 Aspire Conga Set with Double Stand:

Not a bad set, but the major problem I found is with the heads. They are inexpensive, and no matter how you tune them have a ringing tone. I have never been able to make them sound like "real" congas (i.e. - the recorded sound of a conga, played by a professional), but then again, maybe that's my fault. Normally you could just buy better quality (synthetic) heads, but most replacement heads won't fit the Aspire model congas. Also, unless you're actually going to be playing latin jazz, you probably don't need 2 drums, at least to start with. If I had it to do over I think I would spend the same amount of money on 1 conga drum, and start with a slightly better quality drum. If you do get 2, my recommendation would be to go with a conga and tumba, rather than the more traditional conga/quinto combo. If you look at drummer's websites you will see very few people using a quinto, and I've never found much use for it.

LP congas

By Clay

from michigan

Comments about LPA646 Aspire Conga Set with Double Stand:

Great congas. sound great, they're extremely easy to assemble and move. they have a great tone thats goes with almost any kind of music. sounds great with both electric and acoustic guitars. i own the sunburst and they look and sound great. if your willing to spend the money i suggest you buy these ones. the stand is nice but you have to set it up right or i can be a little unstable but if you set it up correctly its fine. i plan on buy the LP sunburst bongos to go with it and the bongo stand so you can set them up right above your congas . Great congas

Average Conga Set

By MORT 74

from Southern CA.

Comments about LPA646 Aspire Conga Set with Double Stand:

The Conga and Quinto in this set were good to begin with. AFter 1 hour of playing on these the stand got annoying. It creeked and the retaining clamps fell. It caused major damage to the quinto. If you are interested in playing the Conga's throw the stand in the dumpster as soon as you get home. I took them back the same day and bought the performer series. The stand is a mjor dissapointment.

I got these congas two years ago for my b-day and I love to play on them. They are excellent for those who want to find a quality product that works very well. I own the Vintage Sunburst and they are beautiful and sound great.

Great Buy

By Anthony

from Tallahassee, FL

Comments about LPA646 Aspire Conga Set with Double Stand:

I brought these Congas about a year ago. I used to play in H.S., but I hadn't played in 16years. The LPA646 made playing so much more easier again. I play for a church and these congas fit right in. They were easy on the hands and the sound is terrific. The Sunburst color is beautiful. I would definitely recommend this set if you are a beginner. Since I hadn't played in years, I considered myself a beginner. The only problem I have is with the double stand, they tend to slide down while I am playing. I am 6'2" so I have to readjust them often. I have a matching pair of bongos that really plays beautiful also. I love the Siam Oak which is also gentle on the fingers and hands and it sounds great. Run out and buy the LPA646
