These cases are G&G. I own another G&G case (the vintage tweed). This one is not quite as nice as the vintage. It's solid and generally well built, but it is not finished quite as nicely as the tweed: On the inside the tolex is sloppily finished and doesn't meet the edge uniformly. If I buy another I will stick with the tweed.
I recieved the case as a gift over the holidays and thought it looked great. Black exterior with a black interior. I went to put my Precision in and it didnt fit. I learned that the case is built to fit most styles and models of Precisions, not all. My Mark Hoppus Signature Precision did not fit into it as well as I thought, it was just a little long and wide. I'm not sure what basses do and do not fit in this case. I want to guess all normal models should, signatures are a different story. I would recommend checking at a local GC or other music store to make sure your Precision fits before buying it. It's a great case, just not for Hoppus Precisions
I recently purchased the Fender Tweed Bass Case w/ a red plush interior. The case was made by G&G Quality Case and is beautiful. My P-Bass ("El Diablo Negro") fits very nicely in the case, is well protected and there is plenty of room for my strap, chords, a pedal or two and a second set of strings. The case is well made and includes leather ends and gold hardware. I also am very happy about the fact that it is nearly identical to my '81 Telecaster Tweed case - the only difference is my Tele case has 30 years of aging. I would definately recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quality case and would like some old school flair that the tweed provides. 5 Stars!
It's Just a great case. And you can't really improve on something that doesn't need Improvement. Keep all these new cases. I've always relied on Fender cases to protect my Basses and they've always come through. Thank you for such a great product and keep up the excellent work!
This is an awesome case!! Has a nice little compartment for some of your stuff! Has a great look! An pretty much worth your money. But if your on the look out for a case I suggest you get a Well padded gig bag. Because honestly this is a pain to lug around. But if your gonna be traveling from gig to gig, I recommend this.
I long needed a new case for my mid 70s P Bass. This case is beautiful, and my beat up old bass looks at home in it. Shipped fast too.
The SKB has housed my Brawley 6 string (my working bass) for a little more than two years and was starting to fall apart. The latches and the aluminum hinge that goes around the case were starting to miss-alignment. And the cover restraints were just glued in and had "given way" a year ago. The restraints keep the top from going to far back and putting to much pressure on the hinge. This I believe contributed to the miss-alignment of the hinge. I had my '66 Precision out at the same time as the Brawley and tried the Brawley in the old Fender case. A perfect fit. The old case though majorily thrashed on the outside is still solid as a rock in protecting the Fender. So, the next time I was in Guitar Center I had them order me a Fender Hard shell case. It came three days later. Perfect condition. I also no longer have to take the strap off the Brawley as the new case has a tad more room, but has enough padding that the bass doesn't move around at all. I like it. If you're planning on keeping the instrument then spend the $$ to protect it in the long term.
