The Super-Champ is a portable, well-made amp with so many tones to add to your playing. Lots of effects to try out. Two channels, the XD footswitch works with it (but is extra.) I compared this amp with the Line 6 Spider which I liked until I heard the Super-Champ. It's got tubes AND some digi-up its sleeves. The best of both worlds and it is easy to use. I keep the volume around 2. This amp can get very loud so the walls and floor pulse, which makes my neighbors start looking for 'that teenage boy who is making all that electric guitar racket.' Fortunately I pass as a 50 year old woman. The neighbors never suspect that huge sound is coming out of my house. I also purchased a Fender Blues amp cover to keep my cat from getting any ideas. One thing to note: if there is a headphone jack on this thing, I haven't found it yet, so be warned. But aside from that, I'm happy with my purchase. Mama's got a brand new bag!
You won't find a better amp for the money. The Bassman is my favorite setting, along with a little delay and reverb.
Really nails that rockabilly sound. You could play small venues with this, but it's primarily a practice amp ( but a really good one ).
I purchased the Fender Champ X2 a couple of weeks ago. I've been looking for a combo amp with great warm tube tone for practicing. This amp delivers that tone. I love to play blues but occasionally venture into other genre's. This amp has the perfect clean tone on channel #1 that I have been looking for. For those occasions where I just want to cut loose and do a little shredding, it also serves me well. The built in amp voicing is fairly accurate; however, I generally use this amp with my Digitech RP500 FX box. The reason for this is that the optionaly footswitch only changes the channel and not the voicing or FX. During performances, I need to make these changes and these do not work well using only a channel change. The Super Champ X2 is very light weight and can be used for practice or gigs in small venues. The 10 inch speaker and volume is adequate and if you need a bigger speaker there is a speaker output jack. I have tried using the FUSE software and it is fun to play with; however, I don't find it very useful. One thing that I wish that Fender would add to this amp is a mid range dial. You can change the mid range within the FUSE software but not on the actual amp.
Generally, I am very pleased with this amplifier and recommend it to anyone who loves warm tube tone.
