Getting older and finding it more difficult to tune my drums. Saw this torque key and figured I'd give it a shot. I replaced the resonant head on my snare using the key and still had wrinkles. While it's operation is simplistic, takes too much time to find the correct amount of torque for the heads. Maybe I expected too much, but I really do a better job with the feel of torque that God gave me.
Yeah, a review on a drum key. If you can beleive it, this tool is very useful. Although it does not replace using your ears and tuning your drums (dont think you can get settings from someone and use them for your drums), they do help once you have already found your ideal sound. Tune your drums to your liking, check what settings the dial is at, write them down. Next time you change heads/tune up, get your settings out. Great for gigging drummmers that might need to tune up quickly.
I used I last night to assemble my PDP EZ kit. The knurled knob made short work of finger tightening the lugs, and the wide grip made evenly torquing the drum heads a breeze. I recommend it for anyone getting a new kit.
