Overview

Featuring laser-etched maple that's finished to resemble carbon fiber, the Majesty guitar boasts a super-lightweight body with unparalleled fret access, DiMarzio voicing and an ebony fretboard with the Majesty logo (for Dream Theater's original moniker) above the first fret. Music Man's Majesty guitar was a hot topic leading up to the 2014 NAMM Show.

The Majesty comes with Music Man's Game Changer technology, which is used to enhance the switching speed of the 3-way and the piezo to HH switch. True to form, the audio signal is never digitized or modeled in any way, providing a transparent analog signal path for the absolute purist.

Includes case.

"The Majesty guitar symbolizes the very reason why I am so proud to be a Music Man artist. I had the idea for this guitar a couple of years ago but it is because of their innovative spirit and dedication to the art of guitar building that it is now a reality.

I wanted to push the boundaries of sound, feel, design, ergonomics and esthetics and from day one Sterling and the Music Man engineering team were completely on board and committed to the project. It's all about asking the right questions; 'How can we make this guitar sound and look better, feel lighter and easier to play?' 'How can we make access to the upper frets even easier, make the guitar an even more versatile creative tool while designing a modern, sleek and beautifully crafted musical instrument?'

Those questions were pondered and answered by head engineer on the project, Drew Montell and tested, tried and questioned again and again by myself Sterling and Dudley over the past 2+ years. Things that we learned and loved about my previous JP signature models were carried over such as the fast neck contour, fretboard radius and stainless steel frets while new additions such as the Game Changer circuit were added to make the Majesty even more incredible.

The preamp and volume boost from the JP13 that I absolutely love was also kept onboard along with my signature DiMarzio 'Illuminator' pickups while a complete change to the body design and the incredibly creative "Maple-Carbon-Fiber" laser etched top was added as a really slick aesthetic touch.

Lastly, the mirrored 1st fret Dream Theater 'Majesty' logo and beautiful pearlescent frozen paint make the guitar look like its ready to be wielded on the battlefield. Truth is, I can't put the Majesty down! I am so grateful that I am able to collaborate with the best guitar company on the planet and so incredibly proud that together we have created what is to me, the perfect musical instrument for guitar players. I really hope you get a chance to play one and am confident that you will feel the same!"

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Majesty Electric Guitar:

I think I've already written a review about this guitar, but it may have not been on this site. Regardless, I've been playing for over 40 years, I've owned, and own, a lot of guitars. This is the most beautiful, playable instrument I've ever had. It practically plays itself. It costs a little bit, but you get what you pay for. It's the Ferrari of guitars. I didn't like the colors they had in stock, so I order the Siberian Sapphire (i think that's the color), and it is something to behold. If you're on the fence on this one, get off, buy it. You won't regret it.

I enjoy playing and this guitar just makes the entire experience even better. You can get so many sounds from this beautiful instrument that it re-energized my love of the instrument. Great work from an outstanding company inspired by a great band and guitarist from Dream Theater.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Majesty Electric Guitar:

I've never played a better guitar - and I've had more than a few. I decided to pick up an EBMM on reputation alone. I had never played one before - but heard glowing reviews time and time again. I wanted something with a fast action even though I'm not a fast player due to arthritis setting in my hands. I picked the right guitar.

Look - I normally don't spend this kind of money on a guitar. I'm in a band, but I'm not exactly making a living playing music. Most of my guitars come in at half this price. It took a lot of mulling before dropping the money on this. With that said, EBMM has a customer for life. The Majesty has a great modern feel to it - it's sleek and ergonomic. The tone is amazing - I get sustain all day on this guitar. The neck joint is a thing of beauty. I never thought I'd say that about a guitar neck joint - but it just so well thought out and executed to perfection.

The electronics take a minute to figure out the layout, but they are fairly simple. There are two toggles, one for the piezo/magnetic mix. The other to select between the magnetic pickups. The knobs are really easy to access, and controlling the built in boost and split coils is really easy. My biggest complaint is the piezo selector - it's too easy to hit inadverntantly.

The guitar is an absolute 5. I'd be amazed if you can find a better sounding and playing guitar. I also really love the looks. Some complain about it, but the pictures don't do it justice.

I just used this guitar in the studio to lay second guitar tracks and solos. It wasn't ready in time for my first guitar tracks. The producer lit up when he heard the tone of this guitar - and this is a guy that's been in the industry for 30+ years. That spoke volumes to me.

"The most versatile guitar Ive Ecer owned!"

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Majesty Electric Guitar:

This guitar is AWESOME, a real game Changer!! It is the funniest and easiest guitar I have ever played. And trust me I own 113 guitars so I've played a lot of them. It is so light, you wont believe how big it sounds. It can get as nasty as you want and then with one switch, you can have it sounding so clean you wont believe it!! Its crazy fast and every note on the fret board is very easy to get to. I bought a black one in May and just bought this glacier one recently. The black one is standard tuned with nines and this one will be dropped a half step with 10s. A tip for you metal heads and shredders, I recommend the ernie ball strings, nines or tens.
Next on the list is the seven string Majesty.

        Thanks!!

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Majesty Electric Guitar:

I picked up my Majesty from guitar center about 6 months ago and have had no problems with it. This is the best guitar I have ever played in my life (been playing for 6 years and I play rock, metal, and jazz usually). The only other guitar that I can think of that even comes close to this is my PRS custom 24. When you play the majesty, everything just feels so smooth and easy. It stays in tune forever unless your doing really severe dive bombs with it. When I go jam with my friends or play a show, people are always asking questions about it. If you are not sure if you want to buy this guitar or not, stop thinking and just buy it because I promise you won't regret it. It doesn't matter what genre you play because it works for everything. My friend just recently got a Majesty after trying mine out and he loves it. Can't go wrong here.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Majesty Electric Guitar:

I bought a red one last year the minute the Georgia store got it. This the nicest easiest to play guitar I have ever owned, and super light. My friends beg to play it. don't like the black part. They could improve the looks but it is still my number one, and I have a lot of guitars. playing power blues is so easy I have to baby the stretches the action is so sensitive. I don't like any of the other Music Man models at all, but they hit a home run with this one.

          Maj-ical guitar indeed!!

          By SHANE

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Majesty Electric Guitar:

I never write reviews, but in this instance, I felt compelled to do so. I received my EBMM Majesty this Saturday and the guitar is an absolute revelation. Never, in my 28 years of playing guitar, have I ever found a guitar that I would ever rate a 10 out of 10, but I certainly would in this case? ?I own a EBMM JP6, as well as a EBMM JP13. Prior to getting this guitar, I rated them an 8 and a 9 respectfully. While superbly crafted in their own right, neither of these guitars can match the ergonomics, the sleek modern looks, the tone, and the resonance of the Majesty. The Illuminator pickups are smooth and fluid, but with all the necessary gain that one would require of a modern metal guitar. The ebony fingerboard is an absolute delight - its dense and smooth, and feels like butter under your fingers. As a special point of emphasis, this is one of the lightest, most compact guitars you'll ever find. The body is what I would describe as downright tiny! Comparatively, the Majesty's body width is 12" whereas the JP6 is 12 1/2" and the JP13 is 12 3/8". The neck is sleek and thin, the fretboard [at 17" radius] is essentially flat, but comfortable. The factory action is very low, with no buzz or rattle. Tuning stability is exceptional. Honestly I agonized for days about the purchase of the guitar. I know that the stock photos online are absolutely horrible [the guitar does NOT photograph well] and this has led to a very polarized opinion on the aesthetics of the guitar. Let me assure you that when you're in physical proximity of this guitar it is STUNNING. You honestly get an opportunity to appreciate the level of attention that has gone into the dimension and the shaping of the instrument - something that 2D photos can't capture. If you're on the fence trying to decide whether or not to try the Majesty, do yourself a favor?it is WELL worth the investment!
