Comments about D'Addario XL148 Nickel-Wound, Drop C Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are perfect in every single imaginable way. .12-.60 are perfect gauges for pretty much all tunings in my experience. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. They aren't individually packaged like Ernie Balls, which makes them really awkward to take out. I can't imagine taking out only one string because it unwinds the rest.

The ultimate string for Drop A# and Drop B despite the title

      By Daniel

      from Miami, Florida

Comments about D'Addario XL148 Nickel-Wound, Drop C Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I have these strings on my schecter c-1 SLS blackjack tuned all the way down to drop A#, and let me tell you, despite being labeled as optimized for drop C, I don't recommend them for that tuning. 11-52s, 12-54s and 11-56s are better for Drop C, but for Drop B and Drop A#, you will not find a better gauge than these on a 25.5 scale length guitar or a 26.5 baritone. The tension is absolutely perfect! It feels like a 10-52 set in E standard with the E string tuned to D! Like with all D'addarios, they are bright, long lasting, they feel smooth and they absolutely love locking tremolos. I can yank my floyd rose all I want and it still will not go out of tune. Since D'addarios are bright as I stated before, they also remain clear under high gain, which I use my marshall JVM on the red channel with a maxon OD as a boost and a peavey 5150. Between the tuning stability, the tension, the reliability, the playability and the string life, you cannot go wrong with these for baritone tunings!

      BEST EVER!

      By David Freisinger

      from New Jersey

Comments about D'Addario XL148 Nickel-Wound, Drop C Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

i used to be a hardcore ernie ball fan. its all i would play actually, well anyways those strings were a waste of my time. they sounded really chunky and distorted which made my tone horrible. they would also snap within 2 to 3 weeks. then, i decided to try out d'addario and boy did i fall in love. these strings sound clear yet heavy because of their gauge. i play these in drop b because i dont like having a lot of tension in my strings. these strings usually break within 2 to 3 months for me which is just amazing. if you're a daily player like i am they will last about 2 to 3 months if u dont abuse them/take advantage, but if you play lightly two to three times a week they will last you a a lot longer. so my advice is, go buy these strings!

      Pretty good

      By Hector Cortez

      from Galveston, Texas

Comments about D'Addario XL148 Nickel-Wound, Drop C Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

These string are indeed great for drop C. They have excellent tension on the low C string for tremolo picking and other forms of fast picking, it also makes pinch harmonics a lot easier to produce. I've even tuned down to drop B with these strings and it still sounded great except for the .020 gauge 4th string because its not thick enough. However it DOES say Drop C on the package and it sounds great if you tune to Drop C and if that's your tuning then I definitely recommend these.
